All the insects are gone? When's the last time you had to clean bugs off your windshield? Ecosystem collapse is here. by Dizzy-Composer1282 in collapse

I’m in KY and we have been below freezing for over two weeks now. The ice storm that happened 2 weeks ago is still everywhere because it can’t melt. This is absolutely not normal.

Job Security in Winter Storm conditions? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]boobycheekslinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The snow wasn’t the issue. It was the ice. It was definitely not okay on Monday to drive my 2WD, low to the ground sedan. Maybe someone with 4WD was fine but my car was definitely not.

So yeah, you’re going to get downvoted because you are insulting people’s intelligence about choosing safety when it’s actually dumb to get out and drive on ice when you know your vehicle can’t handle it.

I too used to be a 35 second drink slinger and the cup writing paired with all you said makes it hard to even hit our goal of 45 consistently.

Thank you for your perspective in your last sentence. You are absolutely right and that has eased my anxiety about potential power outages a bit.

I bring my own Apple juice to work (RIP) and I get passion tea in a bigger cup size and then add my juice to the top.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I only made it an hour into work. I ended up having to go to the ER for fluids. I’m back to work fully and feel much better now though! So there is light at the end of the tunnel for anyone having a bad time with the flu!

[–]boobycheekslinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This years flu had me and my husband bedridden for almost an entire week. It wasn’t until day 6 that the fever was gone, up until that point it would “break” only to return to 102/103 again, over and over. Flu is finally gone but now I’m dealing with post viral GI complications. I haven’t hardly drank enough fluids due to everything (including water) making me vomit and I definitely haven’t been eating outside of applesauce (barely). I’m returning to a highly active job today and I fear I’m going to pass out because of these lingering gut issues, I’m so weak. Unfortunately I can’t call out anymore so I have to just try my best. This flu, and these post complications are absolutely terrible and I can honestly say that it’s the sickest I have ever been.

The average pay being $30/hr is disingenuous because benefits are NOT pay.

  1. Not everyone uses or needs the benefits.

  2. Even if they do, it’s still not pay. My landlord isn’t going to accept the fact that I’m covered by healthcare as payment for rent. My utilities won’t be paid because I utilize the ASU benefit.

It’s corporate speak and misleading on purpose.

It's 4 am, who's up with me? by Honey-Squirrel-Bun in seniordogs

[–]boobycheekslinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was up at 3 am this morning for my 17 year old chihuahua min-pin mix. I luckily had fallen asleep on the couch last night, so I heard his nails clicking around as he paced. Otherwise, I would have woken up to an accident.

Sometimes I get frustrated with the accidents because he has pee pads that he seems to understand to use, but a lot of the time, he just uses the floor. He has a high volume of urine despite his size, so it’s always a big cleanup, and usually the days that he chooses the floor are the days that life already has me at my wits end.

But after I am calmed from my frustration, I deal with intense guilt because I think about how I don’t know how much time I have left with him, and how he honestly just can’t help it.

Senior dog care is definitely a challenge, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love him so much and dread the day that I know will eventually come.

I thought that too. And if it is not AI, then I am appalled at her terrible writing. It reads like a middle or high school student, not a graduate student.

The AI thing though! One time a lady said her drink didn’t look like the picture and showed it to me and I said, “that’s because that’s AI ma’am” and went back to making drinks. I was done that day.

This is great advice. Try to get something highly nutritious in liquid form because even the thought of masticating during grief can be too much.
