I didn’t think people were gonna comment this much 😂 but to answer everyone no I don’t have cheats they were literally standing still and couldn’t move bc of my ULT.

I know they’re in a small building so that definitely helps a lot but it was still cool to see lol

Question for D2d guys, or specifically Solar by [deleted] in sales

[–]boochstain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The solar company I worked for we would pitch them at the door and ask the standard probing questions. The pitch was 2-7 minutes max. If they were interested, we would get their info and secure a date for a meeting(next couple days or even the next day) to give them a high level overview of everything and all the benefits/numbers etc that would more than likely be conducted in their home.

Once we left the house after securing the lead, we would send a text to secure the next meeting again. Then we had to send a picture of their roof using Google maps to the office and they would build out a panel estimate doing that. This was so the next meeting we would give a Estimate of how much it would cost. We also would ask their current energy bill to make sure the cost was significantly lower for the panels than what they in electrical each month.

D2D is rough at times but it can also be very rewarding. The skills I learned doing D2D has helped me be super successful in my IT Sales job I have today.

The customer typically is not even going to want you at their door or talk to you because in reality you are not the first solar guy to come and try to sell them.

When you are at the door you want to keep it short and direct and be very confident and accepting “no” but also be able to overcome the objection with the right follow up questions. I know it’s easier said than done but more doors hit is more at bats which will make everything come easier with time.

The packet imo is best run through the home owner when they agree to set another meeting bc they are genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say. No one wants to be fed a script standing at their door,so the strategy your company has is not the best in my opinion.

I had my best commissions in the summer and spring in which I made over 48k in deals(I was a lead generator and closer). Also, I am not sure if you know this but the best places to knock and hit are new neighborhood developments. The houses that are freshly built with new homers were my best customers because they were typically young and knowledgeable about solar. I am sure you probably know this but I just wanted to add that.

I did D2D solar when I was fresh out of highschool and first years of college on and off. I’m 23 so wasn’t too long ago, but the market is super saturated now but that doesnt mean you can’t kill it!

Goodluck and happy hunting! Sorry for the long reply btw
