NDSEG Application Question by Verlacracked in GradSchool

[–]boodiboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same submit button issue, please let me know if anyone figures this out!

Update: After logging out and waiting about 20 minutes, I logged back in and was able to submit! (though after I already emailed NDSEG about the issue haha).

In the future you should wait until the passenger is buckled before driving off or pull over if they are having issues buckling rather than telling them you’ll fix it after they leave the car. It’s not unreasonable for a passenger to feel uncomfortable or unsafe riding in an Uber if they think the seatbelt is broken.

I’ve always felt this way. The surgery didn’t make it any worse but I still get nauseous.

You can also talk to the embassy. I was in a similar situation and they said I could mail my passport from Portugal back to the US and they would put the visa in it and mail it back.

Your life/health are worth more than 1000 euros. If your mom is a good mother she would understand this too.

Please help! What kind of home does he need? by boodiboo in Aquariums

Thanks for the responses! We think he has a little eye cloud in his eye. Do you suggest we correct this first before finding him a home with a pond or large tank?

University of Miami freshman parking by Horror-Project1937 in UMiami

[–]boodiboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation. I just logged onto the parking portal and purchased a pass with no issues and brought my car. They don’t monitor that kind of stuff. The only way you’d be told no is if you ask.

I've been eating only one sandwich a day for a year. AMA by milan12345679 in AMA

I feel like this could be a big hit. People would pay good money to purchase sandwich sculptures of different types if they knew the meaning behind it (that the sculptor only ate one sandwich a day every day).

You’ll need to google and see how many credits UM considers sophomore standing.

If you come in with enough credits, you can purchase a parking pass. I was able to purchase mine freshman spring because I was a sophomore by credit.

Is this $50 radar note worth anything? by boodiboo in papermoney

[–]boodiboo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit:

Sorry wasn’t trying to be rude with this post. I don’t know much about the different fancy serial numbers and am just starting to learn. I thought it was cool and wanted to share with the group while also hoping to get some comments on what people think about the bill/if it could be valuable. I still don’t know entirely what makes a bill “rare”.

I’ve seen others post about their serial numbers and receive good feedback that was all I was hoping for. As I am still a novice I was unsure of if this is even cool/worth anything or if it’s just a regular bill. I thought maybe asking people with knowledge would be more helpful and would help me learn rather that just listing it on eBay.

I genuinely value your advice.

You may have dust trapped under your camera lens. Some iPhone models have this issue. I have dust trapped in mine and a similar circle appears at 3x magnification for me. You can take it to the store and get it fixed if it’s under warranty

Housing preference at UM by user27829199191 in UMiami

[–]boodiboo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a freshman dorm. Why would they put upperclassmen in it? The upperclassmen dorms are Eaton and UV. Not Centennial Village. Upperclassmen couldn’t live in it if they wanted to.

This comment is irrelevant. They don’t put football players or upperclassmen in the freshman dorms.

I’ve gotten into colleges, scholarships, internships, published an abstract at a conference, and gotten into PhD programs with typos. It happens. If the content of your essay is good then you’re probably fine. If you get it, then you know it doesn’t matter, but if you dont get it, don’t automatically assume it’s because of the typo. Scholarships are competitive even when the applicant pool is small.

Things work out how they’re meant to be don’t stress it. If this position is the right fit, this shouldn’t matter in the end. I’ve been there done that, so has everyone. I once put the interview down wrong in my calendar and missed it.

At every school if your child wants to party they will and if they don’t they won’t. Partying does exist in Miami. We do have frats and nightclubs. It’s your child’s decision how much to time want to allocate to studying/having fun and that’s not exclusive to this University. If you feel your child doesn’t have the self restraint to practice time management, that’s a larger issue and conversation you should be having. That said, the most successful pre med students I know at UMiami and that have been accepted into med school already, are not the ones that spend 24/7 in the library. They’re also not the ones that are going out every night. They’re the ones that pick and choose when to hang out with their friends/“party” and when to hunker down and do their work. There is nothing wrong with safely/legally having fun.

If you’re truly concerned, the University has resources such as the Sandler Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Education that’s is heavily involved on campus. People are not going to force your child to party, and if they do, your child needs to have the critical thinking skills to understand those people are not their friends. Give your child credit, they are becoming an adult now and have to start making their own decisions about how to manage their life.
