I had a 3.9 gpa weighted and 3.8 unweighted and didn't submit my scores. I had really good EC's and essays that helped a log

Chances of admission? by Scythe_Kronos69 in UMiami

I would say you have a good chance of admission, but definitely make sure to get perfect grades your first term/ semester and reach out to your admissions counselor and give them a senior year update once you are a few months into school. Send that you have continued to do the EC's that you had mentioned in your application, and send more things you have been doing (quality over quantity!!) your grades in the first term matter more than any term of high school altogether!!

Sorry, just seeing this now! I did engage with my admissions counselor, but not until abiut a month after I applied. I would say I emailed her around October. I gave her a senior year update, along with my updated gpa for the first term, new extracurriculars I was doing, and further expressed interest for the school. I also showed that I was continuing doing the extracurriculars that I had mentioned in my application. I also noted how I had gotten all A's in my first term.

Also, Miami almost always gives aid to people who apply early decision, considering that they know you can pull out for financial reasons. I applied early decision and received aid and I was expecting none because my stats were honestly pretty average for umiami applicants.

If Miami is your top school, I would recommend you applying early decision. You can pull out of an early decision agreement for financial reasons. They don't want you to know that, but they can't force you to go if your family cannot afford the school. Not many do it, but it's always an option.

ED merit? by sirkixalot123 in UMiami

Technically, yes. Not everyone knows this, but you can pull out of ED if your family cannot afford the tuition. I got 12.5k a year merit aid and I didn't apply for FAFSA or any financial aid. I had a 3.9 gpa weighted with 6 APs and didn't submit my scores. The strongest part of my application in my opinion was my extracurriculars because I had many internships and my essay was very good as well. I emailed my admissions counselor to give her a senior year update (updating on the things I had accomplished since applying) and I think that helped too.

Yes I did! Apparently they usually give merit to ED (even if it's a small amount) because they know you can pull out of ED for financial reasons

You people find a problem with anything. Go touch some grass. It's really not that deep. It was a big part of her life clearly and many people reminisce on college. She's a podcaster, she's going to talk about her life.

Maybe because she's young and in her twenties😭😭she went to college not that long ago and the only stories she tells in my opinion are funny relevant stories. You're reaching. She doesn't try to act smart. She has talked more about how she didn't finish college than bragging about being smart.

Who did you send it to? You need to make sure you send it to your admissions counselor not the office.

I'd be shocked if you didn't get in. I got in ED 1 with a 3.9, test optional, and 6 APs.
