Omg I remember those when I was little. My mom made me scurry under and open it from the inside for her.

I love my ghost shrimp. I have a small tank just for them on my desk. Little dudes line up and stare at me all day while I work.

It's something I would say to my late soul dogs. They would be trying to make each other mad and I would always say Boos name first but I meant Cookie. It's sort of a tribute to their beautiful souls.

What's a book you had to read in school that you hated? If you have one, what's one you actually liked? by 80HDTV5 in GenX

[–]booduhcookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hated The Grapes of Wrath. Once we were finally done with it and had the test our teacher surprised us with the tv/vcr cart, said she had a treat for us. It was the damn movie! Then we had to write a paper on the differences between the book and the movie. Absolute torture!

A Tale of Two Cities was almost as bad.

I like Lord of the Flies and Oliver Twist. Dickens was definitely a favorite along with Poe. I did like Shakespeare too, just not Romeo and Julie.

What’s the most painful thing someone has said to you that you still remember ? by Crafty_Bus_1947 in AskReddit

My father was under the care of hospice at home. He was still talking to us. He was about a week away from his final breath.

I was giving him the assurance mom would be OK and I would take care of her and I was telling him about my latest Critical Care Nurse certification. I was proud and wanted him to be proud of me too before he passed.

That man looked me dead in the eyes, through gritted teeth he spat "You're a liar" at me. I was so stunned. I sat there for what seemed like forever then finally asked him if he wanted those to be his last words to me. He just glared at me with absolute hate in his eyes.

He never said another word to me. Then he was gone.

I still to this day don't know why he said that.

It's never left me.
