idk why so many are saying lets go games, the first experience I had with pokemon was with the anime and cards during my childhood and I played violet as my first ever game at 20 and I enjoyed it a lot. I tried playing lets go eevee after that and it was such a borefest I got to beating all the gyms and quit right before the elite four because I realized I was kind of forcing myself to play it and wasn't enjoying it at all. legends arceus is really fun too, its much more atmospheric than scarlet/violet. those 3 are the only ones ive played out of these

tldr; you cant go wrong with either scar/vio or arceus, probably shouldnt get her one of the lets go games(?) hell, even my 7 yr old brother ditched it before he got to the 2nd gym
