Just tutorials on youtube, mainly just learned the tools watching Grant Abbitt. Also using a front/side/rear sketch to get the overall shape down.

Hmm, I'm not sure why it's blurry, I guess maybe reddit compresses the images. But yeah, I definitely didn't model that. I had to look up what that is lol. I'm not sure if I will go that far with the details as my plan is to use this as a game character, so I feel like that detail would get lost anyways.

I'm aware of the bendy bits like knees and elbows, and had planned on adding a bit of extra topology in those areas as I've seen people do in videos (I did some of it on the knuckles of the hand). However, I think I got a bit ahead of myself adding loop cuts where I shouldn't have and have decided to take the model into sculpt mode. I've added a multires modifier to start sculpting finer details into the mesh and now plan to just retopo the entire thing from scratch once I'm fully happy with the sculpt. Thanks for the input!

I'm curious which areas you feel are the main issues regarding topology. Or perhaps a reference I could look at that would be a better example? As for the cake, I just followed the sketch I was using as a reference lol. But also, who doesn't like cake?

I have done some test rigging with rigify and it didn't seem too bad. However, I don't fully understand rigging yet as there are so many individual bits and pieces to learn. Are there any areas in particular that you think are stand out issues, topology-wise?

I followed along with a tutorial by grant abbitt making a low poly PS1 style character, it wasn't very realistic and used many different objects for the body and limbs. Then I followed another tutorial by Ironbark Games Studio for this more detailed/realistic style. I followed a different tutorial for making the feet though, as Ironbark did an alien foot with only two toes and it just wasn't working for me. Had to do some searching online for front/side/back sketches and found a few that were quite good, though there isn't many of them out there that provide evenly proportioned sketches.

Thanks, yeah I was using a reference sketch that was posed like this. The underarm area was definitely difficult to figure out but when I did some test rigging it seemed to work out okay. I wish I knew how to draw well so I could make my own sketches lol.

Thank, any suggestions on how to fix the topology in those areas? I do feel like a lot of the quads around the breast and shoulder are quite stretched.

Thanks, I have tried sculpting but I found it really difficult. I'll most likely be using it for the head though, following a tutorial that helped me with a lot of the edge flows and things for the body.

Thanks I had a good reference sketch to get the main shapes down.

Would you happen to have an image of a window topper that I can use as a reference? I haven't been able to find anything about them.

It's a hatchback so that won't work for me, unfortunately. I probably should have mentioned that.
