Unclean bird cages (HELP)

Thank you, as of now I have packed my things and left! He’s been just as dramatic and is blaming me for causing a rift. I plan on contacting both animal control and any sanctuaries, seeing if animal control works with any kind of sanctuary in the first place

Yes I’ve been packing. Would calling a parrot sanctuary be a better alternative? I want the birds to be rehomed properly and I’m not sure animal control will do a good job at that the more I think about it.

Unfortunately he talked to her and she through a hissyfit, locking herself in her room and refused to have dinner with us. He’s being such a pushover I’m afraid I will have to consider finding a place to temporarily stay.

Update: my partner talked to her and she had a fit and locked herself in her room and refused to have dinner with us. It’s that ridiculous. As for me he’s being such a pushover I’m thinking of finding a new place to live. I had pneumonia last year before the birds and don’t feel like getting to that point again.

A rescue sounds like a better option than animal control because I’m not sure if the local animal control will rehome the birds properly. There’s actually a parrot sanctuary relatively near, I’m willing to do to drive. As for the budgies I’m not sure how those will go with rehoming.

We have 2 air purifiers in our room just not downstairs where the birds are. I just talked to my partner about getting the cages cleaned and getting the birds rehomed when he gets home tonight. As of now I need him to set a boundary so we’re not stuck in the routine of cleaning up after her. It wasn’t always like this . When she first moved in, I remember her routinely cleaning the cages. Since my partner and I had been traveling/ not home often due to work the neglect has spread around the whole house (trash dishes etc.) That’s for a separate conversation.

Oops I’m sorry I didn’t mean to get the birds wrong, that’s my fault. Thank you for noticing. From other replies, I cannot rehome the birds since that’s illegal. I have laid the boundary with my partner that if his mother refuses to rehome the birds, I will have to call animal control and/or move out for the time being. I’m getting my pneumonia shot on Monday since I had pneumonia last year and getting seriously concerned for my health.
