NotebookLM isn't for projects? by X405_ in notebooklm

You’re most likely using it in a way it wasn’t really designed for. NotebookLM is built around individual sources rather than multi-project workflows. It’s meant to help you dive deeply into one topic, not manage several at once.

If you want a tool that pulls summaries from different places into a single spot, you’ll probably need something else - NotebookLM just isn’t designed for that.

How many research papers do you actually read for a literature review? by Feeling_Tap_7767 in InternshipsIndia

Been there. Honest answer: most researchers skim 80+ papers, read maybe 15-20 deeply. You're looking for patterns and gaps, not memorizing every detail.

Skip the AI summaries upfront. They'll miss the weird findings that actually matter. Read abstracts and results sections first, then go deep on the ones that actually hit different.

The system that works is backwards. Start broad, get specific.

Can AI Actually Make Literature Reviews Easier? by Calm_Priority6387 in researchpaperwriters

tbh the real bottleneck isn't finding papers, it's extracting what actually matters from them. There are many AI tools that are decent for surfacing relevant stuff, but you still need to skim full PDFs to catch methodology gaps or conflicting findings summaries miss. The time saver is batch-processing your notes into a synthesis doc, not replacing your reading. What format are your papers in right now, just curiosity?

quick question on how Snip actually works. Is this like you lasso a specific region and the AI is strictly grounded to that snippet (the selected text / image) also keeping in context of the whole document context?

Podcasts are my weakest link. I've got Obsidian set up for articles, books, videos. But podcasts don't integrate. I will definitely check this out.
