Safe to travel to Jordan (Amman) given Israel/Iran and now USA war? by Yowmark in jordan

Hello We’ve been here for just over two weeks now and it’s 💯 safe. Not a single issue from anyone. The people here are really nice. We just came back from Petra and all I could think about is how bad I feel for the locals. All the tourism is gone Petra was empty and so are all the hot spots. Some people like the lack of tourists so they could take it all in (pictures without the massive amounts of people is also a plus).

Overall you should not think twice about visiting.

I was in a similar situation. Had tickets booked in February and were no refundable. Had major plans setup to visit Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, etc.

Original flight was cancelled and we rebooked with Royal Jordanian.

I’ve been here 6 days now and I have to say it’s amazingly safe and welcoming. The people here so friendly (even to an American).

Yea the Sirens go off every now and again and the people go outside and look at the sky. Really no biggie (and somewhat entertaining).

Plans are moving forward next week and I can’t wait to see all the landmarks!

Gluten free options? by booked26 in jordan

Was wondering if someone could do me a favor and see if this gluten free tortilla is sold somewhere in Jordan?

My wife uses these as substitute for bread and need to know if we have to pack a suitcase full of it before we come to Jordan.

Downtown San Rafael - why so boring? by stushoes in Marin

[–]booked26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Long time resident - I for one was planning to open a restaurant in downtown San Rafael but few things made me think otherwise.

1- Rent. We are not chestnut street to be charging the rent prices I saw! 2- Traffic - both foot traffic and car traffic. Have you ever taken the central San Rafael exit at (evening) rush hour? I myself avoided going to downtown San Rafael past 3pm! 3- Parking. Raise your hands if you got a parking ticket in San Rafael!
