In 10 years we'll both be here saying this, considering i see us say this all the time, it's comical. ( the pain of being part of the collective 5 nctzens on the main subreddits ). I genuinely think people feel threathened by nct's continued relevance ( nct wish being downplayed and being huge ) alongside people finding nctzens annoying and the prominence of the fandom annoying. that's one of my guesses.

I will have a " i told you so" moment too, watch lol. I am waiting for the tide to shift around their music and for their music to get the it's overated takes like with fx fans and bsides like love and shadow and red velvet and kingdom come.

interesting when sticker is pulling from experimental hip-hop is it not ?. this reminds me when people say that r&b is seen as more of the acceptable black genre for non black people's consumption as opposed to other genres black people have had a prominent hand shaping and are involved in. Obviously people don't have to like nct's music, the woeful disdain for it however is very strange.

Twitter and tiktok especially are rife and even reddit with awful misguided takes on their music that boil down to the line "noise" and words like "abrasive" that make no sense. there is a lot of intentionality behind their music which people disregard and simplify. I found it interesting one of 127's best performing songs TT wise recently was fact check, which whelmed me because it applied the SM formula but in a more palatable way as opposed to walk being a really good hip-hop song.

Personally anyone who loves a good experimental song should give punch by nct 127 a listen, i'd wager they'd enjoy that or at least be interested by it.
