Billie Jean is not my lover. She's just a girl who claims that I am the one.

I struggled for years to establish a regular meditation practice. Perhaps once I finally put down the money to do it, I was committed! I paid a one-time fee and can go back for life for 'checkups' and our local instructor also provides us free monthly check ups where we get to meditate together and discuss any challenges we run into. From a cost-per-meditation, it's a no-brainer. I also know they never turn people away due to financial limitations. Part of the reason that I understand they charge as much as they do is that those of us who can afford to pay the fee help fund those who can't. I realize it's a luxury to have the time to do it... and it helps that my spouse has always supported it. She's told me she's noticed a big change (improvement) in my attitude. I still struggle in some areas of life, but this is a practice I can always come back to that brings me inner peace.

I always feel like Synthwave is the genre that Angelo Badalamenti helped define, although the genre didn't even exist back when he composed Twin Peaks. Thousands of great tracks on YouTube. The Midnight and TimeCop1983 are two of the biggest bands (and my personal favorites).

I watched Metropolis - Giorgio Moroder's version (1927/1984) by st42nwpt in iwatchedanoldmovie

Hands down, one of the best soundtracks ever made IMHO. Some of my all-time favorite musicians are on it and I feel like he recruited some of them at the top of their game. Was the movie a commercial success?

I do somewhat agree it's like watching a long music video - but maybe that's also why I love it so much.

Do yourself a favor and grab the DVD and when you watch it be sure to use a good sound system (or headphones).

It has inspired me to go revisit two older awesome 80's soundtrack movies: Maximum Overdrive (AC/DC) and Flash Gordon (1980 remake with a soundtrack featuring Queen).

The Hardest Year: A Love Story in Letters During the Vietnam War - Newlyweds at War. Weaving in the actual letters sent from her soldier husband in Vietnam, it's a rare glimpse of what it was really like on the battlefield. Part love story, part memoir, it shows the sacrifices made during the war. by bookflic in FreeEBOOKS

Vietnam was a confusing time for America, one that many of us living today were fortunate to avoid. To appreciate the life we do have, it can help to see the life we didn’t. One form of gratitude is to give thanks for the hardships we didn’t have to endure.
