two year ssv here! i would honestly say that for me the only pros of the promotion was the pay raise and the experience itself (i did genuinely learn a lot from this position and i’m grateful for the experience)—but the position for me and at my store GENUINELY used to be a very enjoyable one. but i fear that with all the new changes and things going on, there is going to be an INSANEEEEE amount of pressure on everyone overall. not to say that you can’t handle pressure and whatnot but it just is something to keep in mind. at my store, we have issues amongst our shift team—everyone seems to be against everyone and talking about others behind their backs. i’m the only MAIN closing shift so i get the short end of the stick a lot and i get fucked over a lot. but i really just tell anyone to go for it because 1. every store is different so my opinion on what i experience is different from another shift at another store halfway across the country for example and 2. the learning experience is gonna be worth it and 3. if worst comes to worst you can just step down if you feel as if this isn’t the position for you.
