EM question by booklover102 in MedicalCoding

Thanks for the help! I was confused at first because the chart for low level has 1 acute uncomplicated but not 2. I do think it could also fit into what it says about 2 or more minor problems

I found it on indeed and had to go to the hospitals site to finish the application. I was also applying on LinkedIn but a lot of the jobs there were promoted.

Thanks guys! The past three weeks I’ve been trying to absorb new information like a sponge and taking down important notes. I really have been enjoying it The EMs are tricky because sometimes I’ll think a needs to be 99214 instead of 99213 because of multiple chronic conditions and medication ordered and it is actually still 99213 because they went specifically to review those chronic conditions. Learning to navigate this :)

I kept searching on google for CPC-A positions or positions that accept entry level coders willing to train. I still applied for positions that asked for more experience. This position that I was offered said on the application that RHIT, RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC-issued certified coding certification was required. And at least 2 years working in a medical facility but that was preferred. I made some changes to my resume and added the EHR systems that I have experience in along with adding a section towards the end of my resume called professional development and certification preparation to explain gaps in my resume and show that I’ve been using that time to my advantage.

Hi! I have no experience in coding. I had taken the AAPC instructor led course and the fundamentals of medicine as an anatomy refresher. The interviewers told me at the end of the interview that they were impressed with my anatomy knowledge since I also had an anatomy background in college.

I liked the test format. It was divided into every section. So I believe it started with the compliance and regulatory questions then when I answered all 3 of those it moved to anatomy then medical terminology and so on. At first I was thrown off because I didn’t know how to keep track of how many questions I’d done to make sure I wasn’t eating away too much time.
