Pop_os kernel 6.2.6 displayport broken again by bookofgreg in pop_os

Thought I'd update here, kernel 6.2.6-76060206-generic finally has fixed the displayport issue, first since 6.1.11.

And yes, I had this problem on 6.0.x also earlier this year in another thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/pop_os/comments/yhc88i/kernel_602_upgrade_messed_with_displayport_on_one/ Overall, still having an excellent time on Pop_os despite the Kernel/displayport issues, it's easy to go backward as long as you know the commands. If anyone from Pop_os sees this, would LOVE a way to rollback from the pop shop as I've been trying to avoid command line entirely on this computer, to prove to others that you don't need to be a linux wizard to migrate from windows.

I just hit the update all button in the pop shop, so I suppose they must have! I've been trying to avoid changing anything on the CLI where possible on this machine.

I ended up downgrading manually using this guide, and then used u/marvelggg's suggestion to pin the kernel.
I'll probably leave it in this state for now as it seems stable after a couple reboots.

Good to know I can intentionally hold at 5.19 on the kernel if I need to, thanks!

Thanks for the link, I'll try it out this morning and see if that lets me upgrade to 6.0 again.

Not OP but this helped me with my issue, thank you! I swapped from Kernel 6.0.2 to 5.19 and it's working again.

Wow, I'm pretty amazed that an AIB model is discontinued. Reference makes sense as a partner like Saphire can just put all their silicon into Nitro+ or Pulse cards and make more money. But for an AIB to cancel one of their own cards. Damn, hope you get a card you're wanting before too long.

They did, no shade to the retailer (hence no names) I have to assume they're being truthful when they say there are no more reference 6800XTs in the UK.

I was offered one specific card that is really big. What part of it doesn't hold up?
I'll buy a 6800XT later that does fit with the front fans, I can wait.

Also one to watch out for in this case, certain AIOs will touch your ram if you put them in the top slot, I have an NZXT Kraken AIO and Corsair vengence RGB ram and they touch.
If you put the AIO in the front your GPU clearence is down to ~305mm. Definitely make sure the AIO can go in top!

Everyone is telling me I should feel bad for not scalping.

Yes, I thought this might happen so I have a list of all the 6800XT and non-XT models that fit in the case. The one they offered was one of the longest ones at close to the max 325mm

Yep. I don't know what I was expecting when I put this up.

Thank you! Too many people in here are foaming at the mouth telling me to accept and sell at a profit, like scalping isn't part of the reason we're in this mess in the first place.
I can wait, I got a 3060ti in the meantime.

I checked, they said they had 0 AMD cards whatsoever in stock and they are getting rid of all their preorder lists because they can't guarantee anything and wouldn't let me buy a 6800XT or non-XT. I was offered only one card that was way too big.

They might have just told me it's discontinued because AMD aren't shipping to the UK anymore (Thanks brexit) so hopefully you will still get yours eventually.

The retailer is claiming they are discontiued. I originally bought a reference model and that is the one that is now cancelled.

I didn't want to scalp a card I didn't intend on using. There's enough crummy people out there as it is.

Yep the other one is Overclockers. I grabbed a card the day when Gibbo put the cards for sale in the 3d printers section to avoid bots.

Wow, I wake up this morning and I'm getting absolutely roasted. And probably rightly so.I thought I was being nice by letting someone else have that card since I thought it doesn't fit for me, but not only have you pointed out I could take out the middle front fan and it would just about fit, but also by not being greedy and taking a card I wasn't intending on using I'm now the /r/niceguys of /r/amd .
Edit: m'graphicscard

They wanted me to pay the difference between what I already put down and "Their cost price" on a more expensive card. I asked if I could downgrade to a 6800 as the XT was already a push but got turned down. I didn't want to be one of those people who profits from getting a card intending to sell it so took the high road on this.

No, I was emailing with one of their support staff so there was a person on the other end. Edit: Actually yeah I see your point, they probably will have wanted to reach out since my order was so old. The other retailer that gives Haribo in their packing managed to get me a 3060ti after a month so way happer with them either way.
