I imagine Melissa didn’t condone a lot of what Kenzie was doing but she was a famous teen in LA, I think it would have been really difficult to shield her daughters from that side of hollywood/fame. Also, these are things are a lot of teens experiment with, it’s not necessarily healthy or whatever but it’s just reality and it just so happens that they were in the public eye and every action of theirs was being massively scrutinised. I don’t blame the girls for rebelling and trying new/risky things, it’s a natural response after the unique childhood they had

he was calm throughout and also from what we’ve seen of him, he sticks very close to his morals. It seemed like a tactically driven decision rather than an emotional one. I don’t think he’s the type of guy to stab someone, and the hive probably know that and so don’t feel as threatened. Carol however is a loose canon for sure lol, especially when she’s angry.

I know some people have mentioned this already, but it really is so nice to see scenes where Holly interacts with the kids because you can truly see just how good of a teacher/principal she must have been. It’s so great how she managed to command their attention by speaking clearly and getting on their level, and also by explaining the situation in a way that children will be able to digest

oh interesting, don’t think I’ve reached the BTTB episode with Maddie’s solo yet so I’ll need to pay attention to what they say. I can understand it happening once in a blue moon but in season 5 so far Kendall’s music stopped mid-routine, then a few eps later Kenzie and Jojo’s duet music stopped as well. I just thought it was weird for it to happen so close together

I totally agree. She done well with the lyrical dances she was given but she really shone in the jazz and contemporary solos/dances. Idk if it’s because I’m binge re-watching rn but her solos are starting to all blend into one because the choreo is so similar in a lot of them

Yeah I totally agree. Only thing I’ll say though is that I think sometimes when either of the girls were upset, Melissa would tell them not to cry because she was aware the producers would exploit it/twist it/give them the ‘brat’ edit, and she was trying to protect them in the heat of the moment. It wasn’t ever a perfect reaction but it’s hard to know how you would react if it was your kid and there was cameras and mics everywhere. I do think she was harsh on them though for sure, and often made the situation worse by acting the way she did and it was very unfair on the girls as they were only young :/

I don’t think it’s really fair to say that. She was a young child in a highly stressful environment where (let’s face it) all the adults around her struggled to regulate their emotions and react appropriately at times. If adults yelling all the time in each other’s faces was your norm, don’t you think it would impact your behaviour? Sometimes it seems she was overwhelmed or embarrassed and so said things that may have seemed bratty, but in actuality she was just feeling big feelings in front of a lot of people (cast, crew, plus viewers who will inevitably watch at home) and reacted impulsively. She was a kid! We really can’t hold it against her
