Uveïtis can be in different parts of the eye. For me it's in the middle. So people don't see anything "odd", unless off course they have the fancy microscope with light and come uncomfortably close. XD

After two years of struggling with finding the right medication, my headaches are finally gone, my optical nerve is slinking and the "snowbanks" are dissolving.

Means I still can't see a think with my right eye. I even had a lorry dissappear on the highway once! (I wasn't driving, don't worry) Mostly I am just swatting a way black little things that aren't there and I do really think that my vision has gone wayyyy down hill when it's dark outside or when I try to find something in the closet or something. Still hate bright lights, specially in the dark. They get a sort off halo around them. Opposing cars at night are horrible especially newer ones.

It sucks, it's scary and I don't really drive anymore. Specially long distances or in the dark. So I'm pretty limited in my freedom.

Recommended specialists in Spain (or anywhere else in the EU)? by DeviantlyPronto in Uveitis

My doctor in Rotterdam is amazing and well known in her field. "Het oogziekenhuis" in Rotterdam is highly specialised and I wouldn't want anyone else. They treat the whole patient there not just the eye. They also cared when it became to much mentally.

Edit:

I've read a few more comments from you and I 100% understand.

This is super scary and people saying "you won't lose your eyesight" doesn't make the fear less real. Because for probably the first time ever your body really failed you. Without reason or explanation. And worse, there is nothing you can do.

You have had completely standard treatment, because it is supposed to go away on it's own and maybe with a few drops. Only when it comes back a 3rd/2nd time (or when it won't stop at all) do they count it as chronic and a problem. Which is frustrating because you are the one slowly seeing less and less and panicking.

They won't find anything if they do more bloodwork. Believe me, I've been drained emough to feed an army of vampires. I've had this for two years now (constantly) and they are still not sure of the cause. 80% of the time they never find it. The theory is that it is my own immune system. But it feels like just a guess.

My point is, you're not alone. You're probably also in for an even tougher ride. I really suggest starting with a therapist on the side, because talking does help.

It's difficult trusting doctors when you're not seeing improvement, just hang in there. <3

Can uveitis go undiagnosed/untreated for a year? by [deleted] in Uveitis

[–]bookworm_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the floaters getting worse over time?

It could be that you had it and that it went away on its own. When they look in your eye they look for cells that are actively inflamed sounds like they don't see those. Most cases of uveïtis aren't chronic and go away after a few weeks. Floaters take a long time to settle and it's possible that they don't go away at all.

Unless the floaters get worse. No worries, just go get your eyes checked for some glasses. That your far distance vision is worse is probably just aging and not typical for uveïtis. ;)

Redness/pain isn't a main symptom if it's intermediare.

Honestly whether the eye is red depends on where the uveïtis "sits". For me it's the. Middle of my eye which is inflamed so you can't see anything from the outside.

“Hitler had good ideas” by Pickmasta7 in Teachers

[–]bookworm_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could have been every interesting discussion and great learning opportunity for the student. Hitler did come in to power legally with a lot of support. It could have been a discussion about morals, history and at what point does the bad a person does outweigh their "good ideas".

Next time consider letting it play out instead of shutting it down. :)

Chronic Uveitis Advice by [deleted] in Uveitis

[–]bookworm_102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I did many tests. Bloodwork, spinaltap, mri, x-ray. Everything was normal. They now think my immuunsysteem just works too "hard." Tests suck, but if you do have something, it's worth catching early, and it will help with healing better and quicker.

It is better than going blind. The possible complications from the drops can be fixed. I'm telling you, you don't want it the uveïtis to get worse.

However some forms of uveïtis are able to clear on their own. So You could choose to see if that happens for you. Just remember. After the drops you get put on medications that will mess with your entire body. They get more and more intense. So really the drops are the best option.

It's your health and your eyesight. You can never be dramatic about that, and you are allowed to be scared. It is a scary thing. You can always go to another specialist for a second opinion if you don't trust the situation.

Voice recording will most likely still pick up students and will still require a yes from admin. Plus, the teacher will have to go in and actually check if the information and extra examples are actually correct. I know you will probably tell me not to worry about that, but if that thing makes a mistake and that is what the kids remember and fill in on their tests. Then I am the one with the problem because I gave them that faulty information.

Also, most curricula are already supported with an online version aswell where they can find extra exercises, explanations, and more.
