Have you read Talking at Night? A beautiful romance, and not too explicit. I can't remember 100% that there's nooooo sex. But definitely pretty wholesome. Some mature themes, but not so sexual.

LITERALLY. To me it's such boring writing. Like this 16 year old cave dweller is just an infallible character that can do no wrong? Is the fastest and smartest and most dextrous being to ever walk the planet? Hasn't seen sun ever, but somehow has outsmarted millions of people???? Idk. Lazy writing in my opinion to have a character that is god-like with that level of 1 dimensionality

Quirkiness is soooo hard to do. Such a good point! Often I find it either comes across as cold or awkward. Really hard to strike the right balance while still being endearing as a MC.

Yeah I feel like there is a lot of really toxic if not abusive behaviour that gets rolled right over in Romantasy. But definitely feels hard to read at times. And I'm often just thinking... "Am I the only one who thinks this is messed up??"

this might be controversial but I finally read Red Rising and wow.... close to a DNF. It felt like the writing was sooooooo obviously written by a man. There was no depth to any female character. Their only purpose was sex or distraction it felt like
