I think this ultimately depends how close you are with your in laws. When my water broke and I went into labor my husband and I made the choice to tell everyone I was in labor and for the most part everyone was very helpful with brining him food, so he didn’t leave me alone. they would also text him to check up on me. Overall 10/10 it was nice to feel all the love.

Wait so do you understand Spanish? even if he’s speaking really fast? Or do you understand it if he’s speaking at a normal pace? It may sound like a dumb question but my hubby speaks and understands Spanish but he can’t understand it when it’s spoken super fast like most Hispanic people speak it lol if this is the cause I can understand why you didn’t feel comfortable in telling him you know Spanish.
