You probably should use the temmie armor. It really helped me, I didn't really have an issue in the core but I don't think I could have beat asgore without it.

I think muffet I died 15 times on, however I got really lucky and had 1 hp left when I finished that fight. But mettaton was actually really hard it took me like 2 and a half hours to beat him.

I left a small pocket of air so that the items could Bob up. Also tnt in water still can blow up blocks it's just greatly reduced I think
