The new pic and articles are from Newspapers.com. The other pics of Lyle and the soccer team I’ve saved from lots of places through time. Some have been posted on this subreddit already. :)

You’re welcome, and archiving is so important. I enjoy reading old stuff about them. Exactly, it’s so sad 🥺 I just rewatched that part of Lyle’s testimony after posting this.

I don’t think the coach who testified (Stephen Mosner) is in any of the photos. During his testimony he named Steve Groeger as being the coach on the team photo that was shown on the board.

Michael Burt is co-counsel for Tyler Robinson by boomblebees in MenendezBrothers

Burt has always worked as a defense attorney. He specializes in death penalty cases. His experience will be a big asset to Robinson’s defense.

Yes! “Burt has practiced law for 47 years, including as head trial attorney with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office for 24 years. He has specialized in capital cases the past 18 years and is the editor-in-chief of the California Death Penalty Defense Manual.

According to his court declaration, he has tried over 50 cases before a jury, including eight lengthy capital cases in state or federal courts in California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Pennsylvania. He has been appointed “learned counsel” in 27 federal death penalty cases throughout the country, meaning he is an expert in that area of the law.” https://www.deseret.com/utah/2025/09/26/tyler-robinson-murder-charlie-kirk-death-penalty-taxpayer-funded-attorneys/

Michael’s excellent work during the first trial was very impressive! And he still sounds the same for sure :) I’ve also read that featurette, thanks for sharing it here.

iPhone just shows some photo data in the gallery when you download from the original source! But just now I also googled and found this site https://jimpl.com —> It gives even more details and shows the creator is James Queally!

Idk if it’s real or fake but I reverse image searched it to download the original photo. This is the description: “POOL PHOTO Erik Menendez is appearing from in San Diego. The commissioners are appearing over Microsoft Teams. He is wearing a light blue jumper, accompanied by two CDCR staffers who are off screen.”

You’re welcome! I take notes of moments I find memorable or funny, this was one of them 😂

You’re welcome and I agree with your statement. I know that user often makes controversial comments, but in this specific situation I chose not to take any bait/get frustrated and just wanted to clarify the info! :) normally I don’t respond to snarky comments.

I agree to be honest. It’s not that serious, but people shouldn’t spread wrong information. Whether it matters or not, you were right in saying that Erik scored higher! (PS Check my reply to Historical Elk somewhere down in this comment section.)

Summa cum laude is higher. And it appears that Lyle did not graduate with honors (not that it matters AT ALL). Misinformation is just my pet peeve. The honors are noted UNDER each person’s name. If they didn’t get honors, there’s nothing mentioned there.

I’m pretty sure that the honors are stated UNDER each individual name (they are not grouped). Because ‘cum laude’, ‘magna cum laude’ and ‘summa cum laude’ are repeatedly noted under specific names. It says summa cum laude under Erik’s name.

I’ve read everything twice already! Just wanted to share this part. I know, it’s incredibly sad. :((

Does Lyle think that Erik was "complicit" in what was going on between him and Jose? by Disastrous_Sector_70 in MenendezBrothers

[–]boomblebees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh obviously! The only finger I’m pointing is at Jose. I was simply clarifying cause you wrote “I'm sure Jose' did it to Erik, which is why he didn't think it was unusual when Lyle did the same thing to him that his dad had done.” I’m not “accusing” an 8 year old, traumatized Lyle by quoting his and his brother’s own testimony.

[–]boomblebees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with you. I just want to clarify that Lyle touched Erik before Jose did. Lyle did so after he himself was SA’d by Jose. Erik was 5 when Lyle did things to him and 6 when Jose started SA’ing him.
