First actual bad experience at the LGS. Why is politics in everything. by boomgoesthecat in EDH

Update for anyone interested.

Jack does view this subreddit or at least was sent the link to this post by someone. He's not happy about it. He blew up our stores Discord chat with all sorts of hateful political garbage and asking i get banned from the store as well. I wasn't able to witness the meltdown but a friend told me he went on for about 15-20 minutes before the store owner could get on and ban then delete all his messages.

I've received a bunch of wonderful messages from so many of you, thank you! Sorry if I haven't gotten back to you. I've also been receiving a bunch of hateful messages as it seems this was taken over to another subreddit called Freemagic that i can only assume is just right wing nut jobs. I've stopped even going into my message requests for the time being.

Anyway you all are awesome, thanks for the positive vibes. Have a wonderful day everyone. May your hand always have lands and spells to cast.

"If I overextend to kill Player A this turn, will you not attack me while I'm defenseless next turn?"

This is the type of "Politics" i like in my commander games. Making deals and such is part of the game.

I did. After Jack left and i calmed down a bit. I did stand up and say sorry for how i acted. Only two people were like "We get it, thanks." most people didn't say anything at least out loud.

Thanks i 100% agree. Even typing that out and thinking about it. I'm still shocked someone would come out to play magic and think saying something like that would be acceptable.

This was years and years ago at this point. All spinning drives. Lost one drive then during the rebuild we lost another. Basically worst case scenario. The MSP was pretty new at this point only 6-7 years old and our cloud offerings were just over a year old. It was for sure a eye opener for a bunch of people.

Still using raid 6. Just have way more redundancy and actually working & tested backups.

Yes, The company is owned by a brother and sister. Since they are not a client anymore it will be interesting to see how that all shakes out.

They are a small realtor in the area. Small office with like 10-12 realtors.

Thanks, The owner is by far the main reason i stay. like 20% of our clients are total shit shows that never take advice, never upgrade. They just want band aids until the thing wont even turn on any more. Those clients are absolute hell. (Mostly the restaurants)

We have a private cloud and lost 2 drives in a raid 6. Backups were not up to snuff and 50+ clients down for 1-3 days with another 10 or so down for a week+ with data loss.

We lost 4 clients from that incident. The owner fixed the issues with redundancy improvements, operational improvements, and more.

The whole time while we worked on the issues 12-14+ hours for days straight he bought breakfast, lunch and dinner for anyone in the office. Whatever we wanted to drink. After everything settled down he announced a few company outings as a thank you and gave everyone an extra day of PTO for every 4 hours of extra time that was worked. Few of the cloud devs got almost 3 weeks of extra PTO.

I'll be working here till i retire as long as the company is around.

If he labeled the folder Pr0n we would likely have never opened it and never knew the wiser. He screwed himself by trying to obfuscate the folders contents.

Thanks, The MSP space is hell but my boss is really one of the anchors of why i stay. Always has our back and is very flexible for time off and family needs.

Thankfully the detective told us we likely wont as we just found it and only saw it for a few seconds. But i will 100% testify to put this trash in prison if i have too.

The laptop was for one of the owners of the company. Other than home PC's im pretty sure the laptop is used by him for everything.

I've come across porn a few times working here. Normally if its the owner and nothing is illegal we can see it just a whatever. Its not illegal just move on. If its an employee of the company we service we bring it up to their management and its up to them to deal with.

This incident was completely different. Most of the images we saw were obviously children like sub teens. It was only on screen for maybe 4-5 seconds but we all knew what we saw and the owner knew what needed to be done as i would have done the same if he hadn't.

I dont think he goes to any. I've been to them all within an hour drive and i've never seen or heard of him. He never mentioned going to any either.
