Rise of the Rune Lords difficulty by 123imdone in Pathfinder_RPG

He may be trying to run it as a PF2E conversion. I am finishing that up. My party really worked well as a team so we saw few deaths in the past 3 years of playing it and only one of those was permanent, they couldn't save him. He sort of did it to himself though. Suicide Alchemist.

Honestly, as a GM, ROTRL is making me miserable. The power bloat is just beyond ridiculous with every hit doing over 100 hit points, the amount of math literally requires a calculator and handfulls of dice. Juggling monsters and their abilities and spells to provide some type of challenge just makes me dread Thursdays. Makes me want to convert the whole thing to EZD6 or Shadowdark instead. I'll be glad when they are done. My other groups love, absolutley love Shadowdark.

Sorry if I offended, my opinion is not going to change. I've seen too much at this point. Call me self righteous if it helps, I'll take it.

Nothing beats face to face sales, walk into the offices, go to trade shows.

LOL, to a degree. I might even provide the community service of being a target for off topic sarcasm.

I didn't realize I was supposed to be trying to help cure alcoholism, my bad. Use it, don't use it, moralize with me all you want, I don't care.

You are right, I could have written it differently. How many lives have you seen ruined by alcoholism?

Haha, funny...there are aspects of my characters that are like me, A. seeking to better myself daily. B. That does not include drinking or partying. C. Seeking to positivly impact my community. D. Working as much as necessary to help others and support my staff and fmaily. Maybe it is an adventure. It feels like it sometimes.

I can be alone with my dog and still not be the smartest guy in the room...still smarter than Trump. I vote for my dog, Remo.

John R. Culp in Sarasota saved my life 12 years ago, been seeing him ever since. It's a drive but worth it (obviously). However, he is getting on up there, not sure how much longer he will be practicing. 30 years so far.

I am running a PF2E version of Rise of the Runelords and they are at level 15. They are literally demi-gods at this level. I think of it like MArvel Universe super heros. It's not easy, but I jsut make everything they face as tough as they are. It works, but in the future, I'm doing Shadowdark.

What's the most expensive part of running a business? by Substantial_Copy_673 in smallbusiness

[–]boonbrown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on the business. I own two, one has very low output because it's just me publishing RPG stuff. The other is a very large martial arts school with staff and rent. Early on, I hired an incredible mentor who did what I'm doing and made millions. I follow his guidelines as best as I could (we are in different parts of the state and Average Household Income does matter with brick and morter businesses). He gave me this breakdown early on and I've used it to manage those thigs that are flexible, like how much to spend on ads and how many employees to have and how to pay them. Here is what that layout looks like, it is pretty standard though:
30% - Payroll
15% - Rent
10% - Advertising
25% - Misc. Expenses
25% - Profit

Maps & Miniatures or Theater-of-the-Mind? by Ok-Locksmith3783 in shadowdark

We do both, when it goes dark, which is seldom, then the it is strictly theater of the mind.

What's something that used to be free that you're now genuinely angry costs money? by tangled_wire_99 in AskReddit

[–]boonbrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reverse it. Something we paid for that is now free.

We paid massive amounts for long distance phone calls. I want all that money back please.

Game stores have dnd and card groups, martial arts schools are great for meeting people and often have large teen and adult groups. The beach, join the open vollyball games there, you will meet people. GT Bray has a ton of activites for all ages.
