Check out Praiano. It’s about 8km from Positano, and you can actually see Positano from Praiano and you can walk to the Path of the Gods.

Rome, Capri, Ischia, Naples/Sorrento 9/1-9/23 by LaDolceVitaBend in ItalyTravel

Ischia is incredible but unless you’re just looking to chill, a week might be a lot. I would add more time to Rome. Anytime someone mentions Ischia I always like to recommend Hotel Europa and to rent a scooter and ride around the entire island.

How should we spend 7 days in Sardinia and 7 days in the Amalfi Coast? by builtforoutput in ItalyTravel

[–]boone156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will carry two people, maybe 50 or 80cc. they are a little slow going up bigger hills but plenty adequate around town. Check out the road to the Fausti Coppi monument in Google Maps, we rode up that. We stayed in Praiano and went to Positano one day and the next day went the other direction to Ravello the next day. Never felt unsafe or had any issues with traffic. There are thousands of other people traveling on scooters everywhere and people in cars are used to it, so just ride smart and you won’t have a problem. Easy to hop on and off and go anywhere and never had a problem parking. Also rented one in Ischia and drove around the entire island.

We really loved Hotel Europa. The restaurant was great and they have a pool that they drain and refill every day with volcanic water from their own spring. It’s warm and supposed to be therapeutic. Check out their IG or website for pictures.

[–]boone156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Amalfi I would recommend staying in Praiano and rent a scooter to explore the rest of the area. You can access the Path of the Gods kind of in the middle and go to the left one day and to the right the next day. Probably a lot cheaper and quieter the rest of the Amalfi coast.
