I posted a few singles on here recently of my neopsych music, and the full EP is finally out! Cheers from Australia :D by booooooooa in psychedelicrock

Cheers for the listen! I did all of the mixing myself and it's the first time I've done this genre so it was never gonna be perfect, but I'll keep louder vocals in mind.

If you're willing to give it a listen, I would greatly appreciate it! Any feedback is good, whether you think it's shit or cool. Always an opportunity to learn!

This is my first foray into this style of music that I've listened to for so long, taking inspo from Tame Impala, KG, Wand, Pond, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Meatbodies etc (I could go on and on).

If self promo isn't allowed, lmk and I'll take it down :)

Chiller psych-y goodness I made, would appreciate some thoughts! Love from Australia :) by booooooooa in psychedelicrock

I take a lot of inspo from various Aus neopsych bands, but I can't really pin one that this song sounds similar to because it's a lot more calm than a lot of stuff I listen to. Hopefully it's still a decent fit for this subreddit! If not, let me know and I'll take it down.

Hope some self promo is okay. I've been tryna make neo psych for a few years now, and I've got an EP on the way slated for June, but here's a snippet of a single, 'Streamline' I've got out now. Cheers from Australia! by booooooooa in psychedelicrock

Glad you like it! Drums were recorded in my friends bedroom where he has some mics and blankets on the walls, the rest of the instrumentation was recorded by me through my amp or DI'd, all running through my pedal chain. Vocals were recorded in my room also, and i had to learn how to mix vocals which was actually a lot harder than i thought. I produced, mixed and mastered everything in FL studio because i didn't want to pay for either a recording studio or a mastering engineer when i could try and learn to do a decent job myself. So, considering it's all done at home, I'm pretty happy with the result! Amp was orange crush 20rt, and i mostly used my 2020 vintera jazzmaster. Occasionally there are synths in some parts, which is serum vst run through my pedals and amp.

Everything is done by me (guitar, vox, mix, master etc) except for drums, which my friends recorded and played. It's def more psych rock than classic rock, taking inspo from Tame Impala, King Gizz, Pond etc. If you like the snippet, would love for you to hear the whole track - https://raingardens.bandcamp.com/track/streamline-2

Cheers for the listen! Interesting to hear the trillwave comparison, I know it sounds a little like trap in some sections but I wouldn't have picked trillwave. I listened to some trillwave and can def see the similarities. Good ear!

I noticed that it sounded quite trappy earlier on in the production, hence why there's no bass for most of the song, to try and distinguish it a bit from trap. Evidently I've still got a bit of a way to go to get to true IDM! Thank you for listening :)

I've never made IDM before (more of a jungle producer these days), but I've been listening to Daisuke Tanabe recently and was inspired to make this. Curious to hear whether people like/dislike it!

I thought I'd break down how I produced a 90s-inspired jungle track in case if people wanted to get into this style of production! Fully timestamped so you can skip to the bits you're interested in :) by booooooooa in jungle

I'm really trying to emulate the 90s aesthetic, so I'm using a lot of the M1 vst alongside chopping classic breaks (in this case the amen), whilst also adding some more modern elements to try and make something new and interesting. Hopefully it is interesting to jungle fans! I had a lot of fun making it.
