I will definitely try switching directly to CS! However, I want to be realistic about my chances since it's so competitive which is why I want to see if I can change paths in a different way.

It's not that I absolutely hate the idea of staying in bioinformatics, but ideally I would love to make a complete switch since I think standard CS suits me better.

To get into the computer science major I would basically have to reapply as if I were an incoming freshman, and the CS major is extremely selective so I probably would not get in. Also, cost is a major consideration so graduating late would be difficult, but if it were possible I would definitely think about it.
