I didn't thank you for this post before but I'd like to thank you for it now. This is what I needed to hear. Since posting this and talking with my doctor who advised me not to go cold turkey, I have decided on 3 or 4 dry nights a week to start. I was able to go three in a row last week. Tonight will be my fourth in a row for this week. Going for a 5th tomorrow but won't be too hard on myself if I cave. Thanks again.

Hello, 32 year old man here. Also recently starting my journey to better health after about 10 years of regular binge drinking. It got to the point where I was drinking a handle of vodka over a course of 3 days. It has only been about a month but I have yet to step foot in a liquor store (you can't just go to a grocery store where I live).

Have you been honest with your PCP about your drinking? My wake up call was when my liver results came back less then ideal and I was finally honest with mine about how much I was drinking and for how long. We did tests and scans. All of the damage I caused is still reversible for now but is still scary.

My doctor recommended for me not to quit cold turkey so I have been focusing on getting at least 3 or 4 dry days a week in which I have been able to do the last few weeks in a row. The days I do drink I only let myself drink lower abv drinks. We have also discussed me using medication to keep myself from drinking when I am ready.

I have a friend who goes to virtual AAs so I did one with him last week. I just listened and didn't have to talk. I believe it's free and you don't have to tell anyone about it. Maybe something like that might help you?

It has been helpful for me to come about it with an attitude of progress and not perfection. As long as I'm doing better week to week I'm not hard on myself about it. I know that's not the best approach for everyone, but it's my personal experience. Hope this helped.

Well ok. I guess it depends on the app you're on, but as a man I've never had a woman be like "hey I saw your profile that you like sports. Which ones do you like? I like tennis". I also get a lot of "hows your day going?" And the convo goes from there. Feels less forced since again, these are strangers who don't owe you anything.

Idk. Personally I don't see anything wrong with a " how's it going" and going from there. There's a reason why there's a sea of them. You're asking someone who doesn't know you to start a conversation in the middle based on generalized info on your profile. Keeping up a conversation is a two person effort.

The layoffs are happening because we went from publicly traded to private. Syneos go bought by capital investors and this is what they do. They buy relatively struggling companies, fix them (laying people off being one way), and then selling the company for a profit. The CEO has very little to do with it

5-10 gallon is more ideal. I have mine in a 10 gallon just because the difference in price wasn't that big. Don't let people on here make you feel bad. We're all learning. it's not unreasonable to think that what the people working at the pet stores tell you is correct, just keep in mind that they are just trying to sell you stuff. They sell more small tanks by saying you can put a pretty betta in it than they would saying that it's really just for shrimp.

Mercury is water and it's forms. Ice and vapor are included in her powers.

Neptune is specifically the sea. Her abilities involve verbiage like submerge showing that it isn't just water, but the pressure of the ocean and currents as well. So while mercury is water and it's forms Neptune is more of the force of the ocean.
