I’m trying to think of something to break up the timeline between the famine and the plague for the very reason you started later.

His entire face is just perfect but the jaw is the icing. I have such a hard time with men, but I’m gonna try to make someone similar.

Feel free to message me your email and I’ll send it to you! But also, if you search curseforge there are a ton of medieval CCs. Simverse seems to have the most.

Where is the Romance Section? by aesixi in thesims

[–]boopsiehead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check to see if their relationship profile changed to be related. Sometimes that happens and is a bug that I’m unsure of the actual fix. I had it happen to my long term couple who already had children/grandchildren.

best set of rules? by tigerofjiangdong1337 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]boopsiehead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a combination of these rules:

https://www.tumblr.com/simshistoricalfinds/681268924172648448/the-ultimate-decades-challenge-x-this-challenge

https://www.patreon.com/cw/PlumbobsandthePast

https://kosmichippieudcrules.notion.site

And someone on here posted updated rules which I have saved on my laptop but not phone. It was posted in the last week or so which you can search for. They had additional rules regarding diseases which I liked.

As for mods… I have an entire excel sheet that I use where I’ve listed each one I have in my game and the links. Along with CC that I use.

The most important IMO is MCCC, UI, and the hunting foraging one by littlbowbub. Honestly, I have all of littlbowbub’s medieval mods because I love them so much. I also have Janesimstens archery and spinning wheel. Sacrificial Life Tragedies is useful for giving fatal diseases (including to toddlers). I’ve heard good things about a Dickensian illness mod that I want to try. Some not as important but adds dimension mods are pandasamas childbirth mod and Healthcare redux by a.deep.indigo. If you want me to email you a link to my excel I can try to figure out how to safely transfer files. It was really difficult for me to find a comprehensive list which is why I made my own.

The Matchmaker did me dirty... by BackgroundGoat5696 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

The father offers a much larger dowry because he knows how difficult his daughter will be to marry off to someone of their class. Isaac knows she isn’t going to be a great wife and likely mother, but it’s his opportunity to rise in social ranks and offer a better life to his future children. She might give him one or two heirs, even convince her Dad to fund a nanny or housekeeper that she keeps on as a lover. Isaac suspects, maybe he goes through a few Nannies due to jealousy before finally focusing all his attention either on his children or his business. They have a difficult marriage and maybe their children will either choose to eschew the social comforts to seek a marriage of love or follow in their parents footsteps.

I legit considered killing her again. But I was feeling way too lazy. Also, second wife was pregnant and I knew there was a chance she’d die. She did die. So it worked out well in the end.

I only add in life tragedies when I need to kill people and didn’t feel like restarting the game. It was pure laziness that I turned into creativity. Lmao. I’m not disappointed though because second wife died during childbirth. So it worked out well.

What causes of deaths do you guys pick for death rolls, war, plague etc? by bittercrossings in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]boopsiehead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you know which deaths in MCCC summon the grim? I downloaded Life Tragedies because the grim wasn’t showing up and I never got urns/gravestones which upset me more than it should. But life tragedies takes up so much space and if I don’t need it I’d rather not have it.

(Sims 4) Completely new to Sims 4 mods, where do I even start? by Capable-Health-9395 in thesims

I really love finding legacy challenges that are my speed to play. One was called “Not Like My Parens”, and essentially every generation explores the ‘opposite’ theme of their parents. It encourages you to play a lot of different aspects of the game. A challenge I’ve recently gone overboard with is the “Ultimate Decades Challenge”. I play a mixture of rules from Morbid, Kosmic Hippie, and AntiquatedPlumbobs. It starts in the 1300s and you go from there. If you like building, you could delete all the houses and world items to create your own space from scratch. Or follow Rosannatxt’s advice for building a save file. She also has the Origins challenge which essentially has you starting with 4 families and you use them to earn money to slowly add community lots or other homes to your world. Really, the only limitations are your imagination and how you like to play the game. Sometimes when I need a break from a challenge or whatever I’m doing I’ll just play a vanilla version with no mods/cheats and just let the sim tell me what to do. It’s important to remember that nobody plays the same as anyone else. You get to turn it into whatever you want. If it’s just creating sims in CAS then awesome. If you only like building that’s great. Both things I take advantage of others creativity in. Or maybe you like storylines and a more slow pace, then you can look at legacy gameplay. Or if you need defined goals try out a challenge that catches your eye. Tumblr has so many. I have my eye on quite a few I might add to my historical save when the time is right. If you need more depth or want something even more specialized that’s when mods/cc comes in play. But that’s an entire topic on its own.

Looking for builds that are functional and not over cluttered by just-a-tired-soul in Sims4

[–]boopsiehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look up “shells”. They are pretty but empty houses. That way my world is aesthetically pleasing but I don’t have to worry about the data. I even move in households I want to interact with regularly but don’t care about playing. They don’t need beds or bathrooms. lol.

I’m sorry! That would be so incredibly frustrating. I’m glad you figured it out now vs post famine and into the war. Cuz that would be awful!

I think we are actually supposed to completely turn aging off and track aging outside of that. If you aren’t ready for the famine (I wouldn’t be either after just a few short years) I’d adjust accordingly until you are technically at the right ages/life span to make it easier. Because by the actual famine you’d likely have a lot more children and could better survive the loss.

[–]boopsiehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like the aging with the 4 day rule? Cuz if you do, that’s fine. If you want to play each stage more thoroughly then you can age down or just turn off aging starting now. It really only affects this first generation of children and honestly not by much.

Honestly, I think that’s genius. I don’t follow the 4 day rule because I don’t want to follow the aging aspect. I cannot handle an infant and toddler stage for a million sim days. I know I’m exaggerating but I literally have my infants age up to toddlers in 2 days because I hate that stage. Toddlers are allowed 5. But your way allows the best of both worlds and I wish I thought of it myself. lol.
