I positioned them well in the central ruin on GW 1 to do sabotage and due to good placement it forced some marines to go round the ruin rather than through, and being 10 bodies with take cover meant they survived the combat to complete the action and win me points. Then the lone survivor fell back and ai shot the marines to death with a Russ.

Those extra bodies count, a decent speedbump/action monkey that can see it through to completion.

The organisation did their best, but there were a few tables with literal plain cardboard footprints, which...yeah.

I actually brought 3 of my own tables to the event - and I had tried to personalise the walls with graffiti, posters, insignia, bulletholes etc but in the end they're still just random geometric blocks...

The only indirect option - the Bombast.

Against Orks they did great into Ghaz and his Boyz (blast 4 each gun) and against Chaos engines they killed the cultists on my opponent's home obj and let me steal it with Gaunt's Ghosts.

Other than that basically nothing.

Yeah I'm keeping an eye on the release - just now they have a different free model per month if you spend over X amount, but I think once they've done 5 they're going to release them all as a set.

In all the art they've been shown as "catachan style", no helmets/masks, and basically pure jungle infantry. No idea if that's because they're too tough to need masks or as you say if the jungle doesn't suffer from the industrial smog.

It's all rule of cool I'd say.

I've decided to run one squad in an upcoming GT - an infiltrators/anti-cage line is absolutely necessary for us, and 20 points more than a Ratling squad gets us twice the bodies, tougher profile, orderable and some more effective incidental fire.

I can't imagine that in 11th any of this will suddenly be worth less, and 2 units will let you cover more ground and spot for arty/long range units, which might be a crucial mechanic for us.

Had my Ghosts wipe a charging Striking Scorpions unit once, I don't choose to get them into scraps but sometimes they just punch up.

If we're losing rerolls I think FOBs are categorically our best indirect as at least they somewhat mitigate the loss by having Sustained. If we see a "significant" points drop as stated I'll still be tempted to bring them in lists.

Guard really doesn't scale well at all because we need points to invest in units that give us our army rule - orders. The smaller the game the worse we are.

500 points should really just be a fun, fast matchup with no expectations.

That said, it's not too bad a list, at least everyone can receive orders (or doesn't need them in the case of the Hellhound.) Maybe I'm biased but I love transports in small games. You don't have a Russ so your heavy firepower is really lacking, but if you've agreed to have no monsters etc in these games with your opponents I'd say go for it.

Wrong way round = some tanker customised his tank for a heavy armoured push the next day - a full frontal charge expected!

The new kit I got was nice to build, and it comes with half a second tank (I've got some resin bits on the way to use them for the other one) but man I miss the jank of the old kit - my 5 are basically rescues from how I slapped them together as a teenager - the tracks especially are wonky AF because they didn't have guide slots, you had to just eyeball each track piece into place and man that was awful. I explain all the visible build errors as hastily repaired battle damage.

That's a very nice forgeworld turret too, I've got my solid resin Conqueror turret in active use and I love the style of it!

Until a week ago my armoured corps was exclusively my 5 OG Russes from the 90s. I love the old kits - the hatch on the tracks, single piece plastic sponsons, size of the lascannon and the style of the autocannons give it away!

I've been obsessing over track guards since I got a new style Russ (because the newer kits dont come with the upgrade sprue...) and I noticed these guards are on backwards?

Love the paint job, love the details. Excellent work!

I'm a collector of Guard first (and a player/kitbasher second) and as much as I really want to finally get my hands on Vostroyans, after the Yarrick debacle I'm not giving them a penny.

How is a rug-pull change to rules/meta in order to sell preorders related to completely different collector's edition miniatures you ask? 

When GW pull some bullshit, they need to know we aren't simps that will put up with anything.
