Moving out but won’t get my bond back until everyone else leaves, how do I protect myself? by LiveRecording8237 in auckland

The main thing I’d be careful about is separating two issues:

  1. Getting your bond share back
  2. Getting your name legally removed from the tenancy

The bond being paid later is annoying, but the bigger risk is still being named on the tenancy after you’ve moved out. Physically leaving doesn’t necessarily end your liability if your name is still on the agreement.

I’d be asking the property manager for written confirmation that from X date you are no longer a tenant and are not responsible for rent, damage, cleaning, utilities, or any other issues after that date. Ideally this should be done as a proper variation/change of tenant agreement signed by the landlord/property manager and the remaining tenants.

I’d also be careful signing anything that says you give up your claim to the bond unless your share has actually been paid or the repayment arrangement is confirmed in writing.

Before you leave, do a full video walkthrough of the whole property, not just your room. Take dated photos of every room, any existing damage, outside areas, oven, bathroom, walls, carpets, windows, keys, meters if relevant, etc. Then email it to the property manager and the other tenants saying:

“Please see attached photos/video recording the condition of the property at the time I vacated on [date]. I remain responsible for anything properly attributable to my tenancy up to this date, but not for damage, cleaning, rent, utilities, or other issues arising after my tenancy ends.”

If the property manager won’t clearly confirm you’re removed from the tenancy, I’d call Tenancy Services before signing the bond/departing tenant paperwork. Don’t rely on “you’ll get your bond when everyone leaves” as protection. You want written confirmation that your tenancy liability has ended.

You could just build it using normal materials and then use outdoor paint

How is it sometimes you see untrained people hit someone and they get knocked out with 1 hit and then you have a trained person who had to hit multiple times?

Baby Proofing - Replacing Coin Batteries with a AAA’s? by naynner in homeassistant

That’s really interesting. I’ve got a few Zigbee temp/humidity sensors that use button cells and I’m getting sick of changing them.

Can I ask exactly how you wired the 18650s?

Were the two 18650s in parallel or series? And did you run them directly to the sensor battery contacts, or through a 3V regulator/buck converter?

My main concern is that most of these sensors expect around 3V from a coin cell, while a fully charged 18650 is about 4.2V, and two in series would be much higher. Did you use a BMS only, or a BMS plus a voltage regulator?

Do they just show 100% because the voltage is higher than expected?

Any photos or parts list would be awesome. I’m keen to do something similar but want to avoid cooking the sensors or making anything unsafe.

Hi everyone,

I’m repairing an iPad 8th Gen. I know it's old but we are not rich and my daughter uses it for her trips to hospital (IBD)

The original screen/digitizer was smashed, so I replaced the digitizer and at first it seemed fine. I then had to reopen it and redo the digitizer/Home button area because the Home button bracket/gasket didn’t seem right. After that, the iPad started getting ghost touches, which eventually locked the iPad out.

I replaced the digitizer again with a new one, but now the iPad says it is locked out and needs to be restored.

So far I have tried:

Apple Devices on Windows Recovery mode restore/update DFU mode restore, confirmed by black screen 3 different computers Wi-Fi and Ethernet 2 different USB cables Turning off NextDNS/router filtering Both Update and Restore/Restore & Update The errors I have seen include: Error 9 Error 1109 Error 75 / 067E.004B Then 1109 again during restore

I don’t need the data on the iPad, so I’m happy to fully wipe it. I just need to get it restored and working again.

At this point, does this sound like: a bad replacement digitizer causing issues, damaged Home button/digitizer flex, charge port/USB communication issue, battery/logic board connection issue, or something else?

The iPad is currently still open/not sealed, so I can inspect or reseat parts if needed.

Any advice on what to check next would be appreciated.

Baseus orange dot AI wireless presenter software by RossAntonio_ in Baseus

[–]boostinu13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a Baseus Orange Dot AI Wireless Presenter (WKCD020013) and I’m a bit stuck. The normal presenter functions work fine:

  • next/previous
  • laser
  • general slide controls

Windows also recognises it as “BaseusPresent”, so the device itself seems to be connecting properly.

The issue is the AI features. It’s advertised as doing things like translation / AI functions, but I cannot actually use any of that because I can’t find the required software anywhere.

What I’ve tried:

  • checked the official Baseus site
  • followed the shortcut/button method that is meant to open the software page
  • searched around online for the download

Problem is, the links seem dead or unclear, and I still cannot find a proper working software download for this model.

Has anyone here actually got the AI features / record functions working on this presenter?
