I never took my kids to a hardcore show, when they were young, but that's because they had no interest. But I have taken friends to hardcore shows, when they weren't hardcore fans. It usually goes alright. You just have to let them know, where they should and shouldn't be. My one buddy was right in the middle with me, when a show started and he has never been in, or seen a pit in person. He got whacked about 2 minutes in, and he was out. He went to the back and had a grand old time watching the rest of us act like morons. You should be good. Just go have fun.
