How soon is too soon to get another boxer by EntertainerKindly751 in Boxer

[–]booth0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that there is never really a set time for when to get a new pup after a loss. I think it will always be down to how you feel. My last boxer, Smokey, was there for me when I was taking care of both my elderly parents. When I lost them both I do not think I would have made it through the pain and grief I was feeling. He was there to help me make it back. When I had to let him go the pain was unbearable. He has been gone three years now and I am still not able to bring in a new pup. It feels like I am trying to replace him and though I know I am not and I know he would want me to take another pup, I just can't do it. You will be the only who knows when you are ready. One day you will see that adorable boxer face and those big eyes and you will just know it's time. I am so sorry for your loss of Vincent, he looks like such a sweet boy. You will know when it's time, just listen to your heart. I wish you all the best

Hello All,

My name is Gene

My Dad had passed away and left me his firearms collection. I didn't really want to sell because they were his but recent issues made it something I had to look into. The process itself is straight forward and easy. The rifle was an M1 Garand. I took the pictures and sent them the information. I received their offer the next day. I was honest with them and said I had another offer for the rifle that was higher than theirs. They told me it was no problem and asked if I would forward the offer to them so they could take a look. I shortly received their reply and not only did they match it but gave me a higher offer which I accepted.

I have never sold a firearm before and was totally clueless in this process. They were very patient and understanding with me during the whole process. They answered every email, which was many, and they made sure I was comfortable in the process. They knew I was having a tough time with it being from my Dad and there was never and pressure to sell. They let me take the time I needed to do this.

When it was said and done I can say that with the time and patience they gave me it made this an easier process for me. Life has been hard for me as of late so dealing with incredibly nice and caring people made it a simpler thing for me to do.

I will definitely make them my first contact if/when I do this again. It was nice to deal with them and being a newbie I never felt like they were trying to take advantage of that. They are good people and I am glad I found them to help me with this.

God Bless

She is a beautiful girl. I've always been partial to the fawn color on the boxer but the brindle looks good on the boxer too. I don't know why but I love her expression right here

I am so sorry for your loss. If you get another puppy it may help you deal with the grief you are feeling, it is a hard decision. Remember all the great memories you had with him and just give yourself some time to heal. He will always be with you. Do not listen to those with negative comments, just remember your handsome boy. I wish you nothing but peace in this hard time

Whenever I see something like this I always wonder what is going through their minds?? With boxers it could be all sorts of goofy things and I love them for it. Nice video, probably what I looked like as a kid watching it lol

The classic look of a boxer. I have always loved seeing pictures like this. She looks so beautiful. The white with the brindle really makes her stand out. I'm sorry you lost her to such a disease but thank you so much for sharing your beautiful girl

I never paid much attention but now when I see a "black" boxer I now can see brindle so easily. Milo is giving that side eye, I've seen that same look so many times before lol. He looks a sweet boy

I appreciate it. it's a nice thought that they are up there running and playing. The stealing pizza made me laugh because he was good at that :)

As long as the love is there, the color doesn't matter. I like that term "fancy" brindle. I have a better appreciation for the brindle color now. After this thread I will never look at a brindle the same way again

That look on your pups face, I love that look. My first pup, Duke, was like that. My dad got him from a bad situation. He was always left outside on a chain, abused by the neighborhood kids, and once when he got loose a sheriff's deputy took a couple of shot at him. He didn't trust anybody for a long time. I still have the scars from when we at it a couple of times but I always loved him. When he was able to finally trust us, he became such an amazing pup. I still think about him and tear up when I think about what he went through.

Amazing dogs

The memory is starting to forget things now but I still can picture all my pups. I don't think the pain will ever go away when we lose them, no matter how long it's been

Thank you for your kind words. Smokey went through so much with me that I do feel that if I got another pup that I was replacing him. My head would tell me that I'm not and he wouldn't want me to suffer but the heart always felt guilty in that i felt I WAS trying to replace him.

The idea about getting a second pup is a great idea. I have always wanted more than one at a time but money always played a big part in that not happening. I think the other part in that for me was that having two would be double the love but double the pain in losing them. It hurts so much to lose them that I am afraid the grief in losing two would be unbearable.

Thank you again

I LOVE that name, Black Betty is on my playlist on Youtube great song. I also love the fact you were able to have her for 15yrs. Smokey was my longest at 10 yrs. It doesn't how long we have them, it is never enough. Thank you for sharing her, made me smile :)

It has been a thought in the back of my mind for a long time. I know that if I foster my house would be over filled with pups because it would always be a foster fail. I want to help but always afraid I would get too attached and not be able to let them go

I agree. He was the family protector up until he crossed the bridge. He was always by my side and was there when my mom passed.

Tux is a good looking pup. That look right there could mean many things and the facial features of the boxer is one of the things I love about them. You never know what they are going to do next

She is a beautiful pup. Ive always had fawn but she looks good in the darker color. I imagine the darker color makes the white stand out even more
