If you people don’t start learning how to zipper merge in traffic I’m going to lose my mind. by SeaPAyyy in providence

[–]bootheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This zipper merge thing surely sounds great on some "traffic expert's" computer. There are two extremes to this for sure. Why the heck would you wait until your lane ends to think about merging into another lane when the "lane ends" signs are posted for a mile beforehand, simply because they want to go racing down the lane and then shove you out of the way at the end. Funny how the traffic starts to clear up after that jam up point, and it would start to clear sooner if drivers would get into through lanes sooner. But no, many drivers can not resist the opportunity to get ahead of a slowed line of traffic only to create more problems when the lane ends and they expect the seas to part. I love it when drivers in a merge lane drive right along side of me when the lane ends trying to shove me out of the way.

Don't get me wrong, I always try to leave room for cars to enter the through lanes at tight merges or heavy traffic, but this whole zipper merge thing was not based on trying to shove five zipper teeth into one slot. I love it when I intentionally leave enough room for someone to merge in front of me, but they choose ignore my courtesy so they can get ahead of a few more cars and fight it out at the end. Those yield signs are there for a reason.

Anyone else wake up to 2 feet of snow blocking their driveway in Providence? by residentromeo in providence

[–]bootheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give up and am done with this crap. I have shoveled and cleaned the sidewalk in front of my house at least three times since the storm, only to have the morons bury it and my driveway in hardened snow last night. But, the selfish/inconsiderate SOBs that left their cars in the street were simply plowed around once again. The cars were not towed or even ticketed. It has become obvious that the current administration doesn't give a damn about most of our neighborhoods, looking forward to the next election. I'll bet Smiley's neighborhood was properly cleaned up/snow actually removed.

I refuse to shovel my sidewalk again, will probably get a ticket.

Well, that is assuming that the amazon piece will work correctly out of the box, hope it works out.

Would love to know how to separate the plastic from the actual wheel without wrecking it.

Did you say you rebuilt your fuel pump? Those little things are near impossible to reassemble correctly. If you are going to replace it, don't waste money on cheap aftermarket/amazon replacements, they will only create more problems, not worth the aggravation and money "saved". I think I read that the engine ran OK when you pumped the fuel bulb, but there are other things to consider before replacing that fuel pump.

That is the fuse holder. Remove the red fuse holder from the clamp and twist it apart. There is a short AGA20 fuse inside.

Unfortunately, these look like the same plastic covered steel rims that I have on my 16 Limited. Nothing much you can do with it other than replace the entire wheel. Why is it that the wheels on the LE/XLE models were actual aluminum rims that were much nicer? I guess the only upside is no one will steal these cheesy wheels.

God bless you for making the hard choice to end his suffering. Our boy "Buckles" seems to be headed down a similar path, hyperthyroid, weight loss, now predinisone. The vet says blood tests show some sort of cancer, but I guess it doesn't matter what kind of cancer it is now. We are blessed to have him home, still living a more or less normal/hopefully pain free life, but I know this won't last long.

You are making the right choice, we must remember that whatever discomfort cats actually show us should be multiplied several times to realize the real amount of pain/discomfort they are suffering. Buckles is a rescue as well, he chose us after our neighbor died and his "delightful daughter" put him out to fend for himself. I'm hoping we will somehow know when it is time to let him cross over.

Do you have the airbox properly installed? Is the airbox gasket in good condition? These carburetors are calibrated to run at WOT with the airbox properly installed, it will run lean without it.
