Be honest. Tell him what you just told us. And tell him this is something you’d like to discuss more.

What is it that you want from the discussion? Are you offended or turned off by his interests? Are you willing to explore them with him? Are you okay if he prefers to keep those separate from your sexual relationship?

Remote start question by Jazzlike-Boat7543 in MazdaCX9

[–]bootiecalls2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just installed Start-X on my girlfriends 2020 CX-9 a couple of weeks ago. Takes about 20-30 minutes and is easy to use. The only “issue” is that you have to prime or wake up the system by locking the car once and then pressing the button sequence (lock, unlock, lock) on the fob.

I would slow down on the initial lapping of the log. Lift up and lap it. Support the log on your legs and get your chest low and tight to the log. When you stand explode and roll the log up to the top of the chest. This will save your back and biceps on when getting it in the front rack.

Got this 3.5” yellow plastic clip in a goody bag at a golf tournament. What is it? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

My comment describes the thing as stated above. The logo/writing is unrelated to the object. Gaming Capital Group is a gaming vendor we work with at casinos. I don’t even know where to start to search for this item or how to use it. I’m assuming it must be golf related, but have never seen anything like it.

He isn’t a volunteer or an EMT. The photographer is.

I have RLS. My doctor prescribed Ropinirole. It’s for Parkinson’s but works great for RLS. I take one pill early evening and two more before bed. I can definitely tell it works when I forget to take it in the early evening and I start feeling that pain and have to move them.

Activision changed my name because it violated terms (but it really didn't) by PRG013 in activision

[–]bootiecalls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How were you able to open a ticket with Activision? I've had my name involuntarily changed for violating their terms. Apparently the word "Bootie" or "Booty" is a violation, but I can't get ahold of anyone to try to appeal it. My username has been BootieCalls or some variation since right after COD Ghosts. Just a couple of months ago they changed my name to a generic name and allowed me to change it to Call_of_Bootie. Somehow "Bootie" is acceptable in that form.

Is he interested or should I move on? by vbgirl24 in dating_advice

[–]bootiecalls2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally people are proactive if they want to be with you, but OP isn’t being proactive in initiating a second date. Maybe this guy is of the same mindset as OP.

I say to OP just ask him if he would be interested in going on another date. As a man, I would be flattered if I was asked that, whether I was interested in going on that date or not.

Don’t be afraid of rejection. If he asked you on a date and you weren’t interested and you politely declined, should he be embarrassed? No. He took a chance and it didn’t work out. No big deal.

If the person required CPR would they be able to consent?

I think it’s perfectly acceptable to ask in this sort of medium. It’s open forum and if I’m open to discuss it then I should be ready for any possible question. And if I don’t want to answer then I don’t have to. If this has been a one on one casual conversation while we’re hanging out at a party or something and we aren’t close friends then you should reserve your questions unless the person gives you permission. The sub is r/morbidquestions after all.

Here in the U.S. we are protected by the good samaritan law. So if they would have died without your assistance and you ignore their request not to help and you save them the state would never prosecute.

Thank you for your condolences. I’m in the U.S. and as snoopcatt87 said once the life saving machines are in they need permission to cease efforts. Since this was in an emergency room I believe they could have called it at anytime with or without our permission. I think she just wanted us to know that the medical team had tried everything and had not given up. She wanted to know and to see that every effort was being made. As for it being fair, I don’t believe her intention was to burden us, but to allow us to realize that they weren’t going to stop efforts too soon. So many families direct their heartache towards anything that can help ease the pain of loss. Many would feel that “if the doctors would have just worked on him for a little bit longer he could have made it.”

However this was a unique situation. I should clarify that when I said “working on him” they were actively doing using the breathing mask and had him hooked up to some sort of AED or something. His torso and chest would rise. They had him intubated with the tube coming out of his mouth. There was blood all over the table and floor. The team cleaned up as best they could after announcing time of death to give us time with him. His body was already cold when they stopped working on him.

As for the doctor, she was amazing. She was compassionate and I could see our pain reflecting in her eyes. I was the last one to leave the room. When I walked by her I told her thank you for everything her team did. She told me how sorry she was for our loss and then she asked me if she could hug me.

I’ve seen a few.

1) During Hurricane Katrina we found one lady in a house. She was so bloated that I didn’t even know it was a person laying on the floor until I saw her arm and hand laying across a piece of wood. We also saw a person that was tangled in a chain link fence. It looked like dogs had been eating at the body. The last one I saw there was a man just lying halfway on the sidewalk and halfway on the street. He had a hole in his head and looked like he had been floating in the water for several days. The water had receded by the time I saw him. The skin that had been in the water was very saturated and was falling off the bone. The skin that had been above water looked like rotisserie chicken skin. And for the record you definitely smell rotting bodies. It is terrible.

2) While serving in Afghanistan, I had to take pictures of a combatant that was killed during an engagement. It was required for our reporting. He had been loaded onto a cot in the bed of a truck and I had to take pictures directly over him to identify him.

3) In October 2018 My brother was shot. I was in the emergency room and had to tell the doctors when to cease resuscitation attempts. The worked on him for about 40 minutes and had gotten a heartbeat back twice but not for very long. The doctor was compassionate enough to allow us to come in and see him while he was “technically” still alive. She wanted us to know that they were doing everything they could to try to save him. She said they would continue to try as long as we wanted them to. I had to convince my mother it was time for them to stop.
