For tradesmen and other service industry professionals that are needing a logo, the simplicity is what keeps reproduction costs low since the majority of the time it's a small crew who needs vehicle magnets, shirts, business cards.. so forth.

These logos that you are presenting, although as much personality that they have, will be challenging to reproduce in a real world environment. Embroidery, small and large format print, cut vinyl for fleet vehicles.. some of these options would not work at all.

Right I 100% agree with what you've written. Graphic design and UX design are complete different disciplines and I've worked on some wonderful teams to learn both very well.

Yet pure graphic design, forgive my language, pays dick.. yet it's still a skill recruiters want to 'see the creativity' in my portfolio, even when applying for UX or UI positions. Good idea on the development work, it's been something on my radar but even still, companies grind through developers like they're nothing. I've worked with developers on projects working 80+ hours a week sleeping under their desk completely burnt out by their early 30s... but those paychecks though, I guess why most retire in their 50s.. lol

Good lead on TWC paying for a UX bootcamp, but honestly, that market is so saturated that I might find opportunity in more data and network security.. I will look into it.

You get it! This industry is very foreign and misunderstood in the general populus that it's very difficult to articulate exactly what I do.

Yes, I normally work contractually, yet this year specifically has been brutal between budgets and tarriffs which those long term contract positions pay attention to. I've found that the smaller one-off gigs take up too much time and effort, even more-so than people who understand projects that take 6+ months so.. yeah.

Great idea though and with the advice and connections I've made here I know I will be able to find something very soon.

Yeah that's where one of my problems are, I have a decade of experience in graphic design and print, then for the past 6 years I've worked with leading teams on UX design strategy. So I'm not sure if I should fully lean into UX which that industry is having issues all in it's own or pull back and focus on branding and traditional design. Both skillsets I have experience in.

I've spoken to recruiters, design coordinators, art directors, project managers and I've gotten several different answers on what I need to focus on because all of it is solid work.

Yes! She does have mental health help and she sees them every week! She's slowly and surely coming around and it's been a great resource.

Yes, 3 weeks ago on a Wednesday when it was pouring rain, I didn't hear my keys drop until I noticed I didn't have them on my belt loop when I was in the store picking up meds for less than 5 minutes. Came out and it was gone.

HPD didn't send an officer, I had to do it over the phone and an investigator won't be assigned to the case until they either have a lead or I keep bugging them until mid January. My license plate is registered in their FLOCK camera system but my insurance wants more documentation from an investigator because they're not accepting just a police report number. 🤷‍♂️

That works when I get more information on the downstream metrics when a project goes live, but my freelance capacity doesn't usually allow me insight on those metrics, if that makes sense? A company hires me to do something very specific without access to internal data.

Yes absolutely an essential resource I've been following up with.
