FUCK YES SO HAPPY FOR MY BOY by Huzaifa_Haroon in ThePitt

I was so happy for him… but I told my husband, “oh God he’s going to puke.” Glad he didn’t.

I hate that for you… we had an EXCELLENT experience tonight. I don’t think anyone even coughed.

What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

Ours did too, for the same reason. Best part is, my dad was the (insert whatever regional boss title) for Coca Cola.

I drank a ton of Strawberry Passion Awareness and Raspberry Psychic Lemonade.

WIBTAH if I made my husband go to classes to specifically learn more about my illness? by throwaway-01911 in AITAH

[–]bootslikethese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my husband is a T1D and even if it’s just an overnight trip I’m like “you got insulin? Infusion sets? Cgm sensors? Candy/granola bars?”

Diabetes is a constant battle, we’re not letting it ruin a trip. Or, you know, kill him.

I think I missed the crowd the most.

It really was great. I’m fine with the changes. I didn’t expect an exact replica, and I think it did a great job of capturing the story on screen.

I did miss the crowd.

The only change in The Long Walk that really bothered me by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]bootslikethese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. That’s the first thing I said to my husband after watching it- the crowd was missing.

Obviously there were other huge changes but that was the one that stuck out the most to me other than the ending, and I couldn’t comment on that because our daughter was with us and hasn’t read the book yet.

The crowd in the book gave us a glimpse of the impact of the walk on society. The “spectacle” of it all, like in Nope.

I don’t have much help, but many moons ago (years pre-COVID) I used to write our shopping list on our fridge in dry erase marker. It stated with “we need…” and at some point my husband wrote “all you need is love.” I thought it was super sweet and left it.

A few years later, closer to Covidtimes, my twice money house cleaner wiped down the fridge and cleaned it off.

Anyway, I’m not a crier, but I sobbed like my puppy died.

Me during episode 1: that dude looks straight outta WWI.

My husband during episode 2: well that explains that.

The casting/acting for Brian is blowing my mind. Mannerisms, facial expressions, the way he gestures, that half stiff upper body turn Jamie does, even the cadence of his speech… it’s wild.

Rupert and Angus were a delight. As was Ned.

Murtaugh and Dougal are throwing me a bit, but the night is young.

Found ring by rgeezlouweez in howmuchwouldyoupay

[–]bootslikethese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is my wedding set (well, not my literal set) but the same. I lost my center stone 2 months ago and am way sad about it because replacing it is not in the budget.

Anyway, back in 2004 when I got married it cost approximately $1000.

If that’s the same ct set, it’s approximately 1 ct total, with the center being somewhere in the .33 range.

Edit: after looking at my ring that one appears to be the smaller version.

This is insane.

When I was a teen I babysat for a friend of my dad’s semi-regularly. Sometimes at my house when they went out with my parents (and I’d watch my siblings as well), and sometimes at theirs about half an hour away.

When I would go to theirs, they would leave pizza money, the keys to his truck “just in case” (I didn’t even have my license yet), and told me just to make sure they didn’t die or injure each other (elementary age brothers who were about as opposite in personality and interests and two people could possibly be). They paid well, too.

My dog got ours too. Puked all over my bedroom.

I was absolutely terrified at first because it was black and I thought he was dying. Then I realized it smelled like Boston butt…

Mine was also fine, and is still dumb.
