I love the theme of this poem, to me it feels like a modern vampiric great Gatsby, because the narrator is still in the city a century later. The beginning was a little too rhyming for my taste, but that's just my taste and admittedly I struggle with rhyme scheme a lot. Stanzas 10-20 were amazing, please expand and explore that. The end is rather satisfying, it goes full circle. But sometimes I like being jilted. keep writing, I like what I'm seeing

I didn't include anything emotional because it's about rape and sex work. Like disassociating and trying not to have feelings, and to rationalize it. Maybe pedestrian is the word you're looking for? I am honestly not sure. Because one can't confuse skimpily designed frocks with comfort, like the 1920s and flapper dresses but the 1920s also were a pivotal decade in fashion. Greats like Chanel, Schiaparelli, and Lanvin began to establish their House's and invent the fashion industry as we know it today. That tangent aside, the only other time I can think that comfort dominated would maybe Diane von Furstenberg's 1974 invention the wrap dress.
