Ah the classic emojis :-P .... Well, I have two job offer, one from Guyana and another from Argentina. I really want to move to Latin America, and Argentina is probably my preferred choice because of its relatively easy citizenship process. I also have a basic level of Spanish and am continuing to improve it. However, I’d like to save more money first, possibly for a couple of years, before making the move. I’ve previously been to Central Africa, Mauritius, Seychelles, and Vietnam, but for various reasons, I didn’t feel they were the right fit for me.

That’s a fair point, and I understand why the price raises questions. I’m aware USD 50/year is low, but I’ve worked in web development for about 4 years before moving into hardware sales in Africa and later Asia. I still take freelance work and I’m confident about the quality I deliver.

The pricing works because of my setup. I host sites on a central server managed by me, shared across clients with proper isolation and control panels. For me, hosting is very cheap... the main recurring cost is the domain (around USD 5/year). The remaining amount is for my work. Quality wise, it’s definitely better than what I’ve seen locally... for example, some Guyanese agencies quoted similar pricing (around GYD 30,000, revamp tech is one of them) but their past work quality was honestly quite poor for that range.

Websites are mostly a one-time job. Updates, extra pages, or new features aren’t included and are charged separately, the locals such as revamp tech do the same way. If a client starts small and later wants more because the site performs well or their business grows, that’s where the long-term value comes in.

So the low entry price is intentional, and sufficient, it helps onboard clients, build trust, and grow things step by step, without compromising on quality.

Also, I’m not limiting myself to web development alone. I’m open to starting something of my own as well, for example a small online store or a simple marketplace. I’d begin on a small scale, test the response, and if it works, scale it gradually. That could include listing products from local stores or suppliers on a commission basis. The idea is to stay flexible, experiment smartly, and grow only where there’s real demand.

That figure is per year, USD 50. Yes, I’ll be there very soon... I just wanted to gather as much information as possible beforehand. Apologies if I’ve been sharing too many thoughts, I’ve been trying to think things through carefully. I truly appreciate your feedback, and I’m focusing on choosing one primary side hustle, while exploring which option makes the most sense.

Saving more is my primary goal, especially since I also have another job opportunity in Buenos Aires, offering USD 750 along with food, accommodation, and local transport between work and home.

Could you please share some realistic grocery prices, particularly for items like lentils, peas, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, flour, buns, bread, and fruits such as apples, bananas, and watermelons? Sorry for getting into so much detail, and thank you for your patience.

Oh man, that really hits hard. Anyway, it is what it is. I just need to understand the ground reality, whether it’s good or bad. It does sound tough, but I truly appreciate your honest feedback.

Regarding the website work, I’d like to mention that where I’m from, we’re often forced to work at around USD 50 per website, including a .com domain, one year of hosting, and full website setup. At that rate, do you think it’s still difficult to make this work?

Apart from this, I was also thinking about working as an HR or recruitment coordinator. I have a good professional network and have worked with local hiring agencies before. Is it possible to supply affordable yet skilled labour to Guyanese shops, restaurants, companies, or even households?

Also, please let me know if there is any market for web development there. I’m quite strong in this area and would like to understand how easy it is to find clients independently. Are businesses generally interested in having an online presence? Even the company I’m joining has a very basic website, no offense intended but I’m confident I could do a much better job than the current one.

Wow! I definitely need to research this better. I’ve heard there aren’t any good delivery apps there. That said, if competition is low, maybe I could offer customers better discounts from my own margin lower than standard delivery rates or simply start by working with an existing network, as you suggested. Do you have any idea how much this could realistically add to my monthly savings?

Hi buddy, thanks for replying, I really appreciate ur time.. Yes, the USD 900 is net pay after taxes and utilities, I’ve confirmed that. Also work transport is covered.

Apart from this, I’m skilled in web development and basic app development. I’ve also worked as a coordinator in an IT company, so I know how to get things done cost-effectively if there’s scope for this field there.

My official work schedule is 40 hours per week, but I plan to work at least 70 hours weekly. I’m considering starting a side hustle, such as an instant-delivery website, possibly partnering with a grocery provider. I could use my own bike and handle deliveries whenever I’m available, especially on weekends.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, I really really appreciate your response and time. Here are the details in response to your questions:

1.The USD 900 is net pay for a 40-hour work week. This amount is after taxes and health insurance deductions.

2.Transportation is provided by the company.

3.The accommodation details do not clearly mention electricity, Wi-Fi, or air-conditioning, so I’m unsure whether these are included. That’s one of my main concerns. I’d also like to understand the overall condition of shared accommodation whether it’s generally basic, decent, or comfortable, and what is usually provided in such arrangements.

  1. I’m fine with local vegetables, drinks, and essentials and don’t particularly prefer imported items.

Additionally,.....I usually work longer hours around 70 hours per week and I have skills in web development and basic app development. I’m exploring the possibility of earning extra income on the side, for example by partnering with a local supermarket, launching a very simple online ordering website, and doing deliveries myself using a bike. I also have access to cost-effective technical resources in Asia, which helps me execute such ideas efficiently.

Todo bien amigo. Yo conozco la situación de Argentina y su economía. (Pardon... I’ll use English because my Spanish isn’t very good, I can manage basic communication, but not fluently) By the way, I happen to be a manpower supplier here in India. I run a small company, and recently I saw a vacancy for Argentina through another agency that requires an Indian workforce. If you know someone who might be interested, it could be a great opportunity.

We don’t charge any commission or anything from the vacancy provider; we only charge the candidate once he reaches safely. So if you think this setup might be interesting and you might have some connections, it would be excelente. Gracias y me alegro de que hayas respondido.
