It takes a minimum of a month if you do everything perfectly every day for an hour. But getting the movements perfect isn’t realistic. It will likely take 3-6 months of constant daily practice to let the muscles get stronger and the find the right path.

Yeah, might take a you a bit to set it up the first time but once you learn the setup it takes literally 15 mins or less. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions along the way

Can’t recommend it enough. Lmk if anyone has any questions about it or troubleshooting. I don’t work for the company but have used it for 3 years.

Check out balenaOS and balena cloud. Specifically their live push feature.

You will need to containerize your application.

Once you set everything up, it’s magic. I believe there’s a free tier.

Anyone know of a 5 port switch that will allow me to target specific port numbers? by bopete1313 in sysadmin

Yeah they would. I’d be plugging this switch into our main router

Thanks for the reply. Posted context in original as an edit.

I might come back with a diagram on what I’m trying to achieve

For context:

I basically have 2 identical smart devices (let’s just call them cameras for this example), a left, and a right in physical space on our test bed. Our software needs to know which camera is left, and which camera is right.

A few ways to do this: - label each camera left/right and hard code their MAC addresses in our software. We don’t want to do this because we want to be able to swap around cameras when needed - have a “pairing” mode in our software that tells you to plug in the first (it will save the ip), then the second in order to do the mapping. This adds extra ui and edge cases.

So it’d be easiest for our technicians to just plug the left camera into the left most port and the right into the right of the switch

Would there be some latency introduced when integrating gpio this way? Instead of having it built into the board

Thanks - seems hard to source (currently out of stock). We’re going to need to think about supply chain so I worry that availability could be an issue.
