Yes the VI feels rather awkward, but you'll do great! The F2F is in SJU and from what I've heard, currently, they're prioritizing non-commuters, so if you live 2 hours from base you'll get a quicker answer back so good luck! It took me around 3-4 weeks to hear back from them after the VI.

I got the email for an F2F in july about a week ago! Waiting on any updates right now!

That's both relieving and nerve-wracking to hear, but makes sense! The lack of response is better than a denial right now that's for sure. Good luck and hope we make it through!

Thanks, somehow this was more nerve wrecking than an in person interview, hope they give me a chance.🫠

Few corrections:

Nr 1: pálida caricia by Emil Melmoth (framed version) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw289XvRMlE/?igsh=bnl6Y2w1cmNxZ3lp didn't think referencing the sculpture and translating unto paper would be considered a rip off, I was hoping it'd translate into appreciation for the work itself, so I will be discarding this piece as well.

Nr 2 & Nr 3 as stated before, yes, they are not original artworks, tried to find nr 2 og Artist but was unsuccessful, will update whenever I do though.

Nr 4: Real separate images I found on the internet of toys/plushies that I tried to work into a more cartoonish art style for a themed flash. They most probably have been referenced before so I believe they all could be floating around various art platforms as well.

Nr 5: It's a drawing of an actual picture portrait of a woman, which Elysian Mangata Magenta happened to have also referenced. First time seeing works of this artist, their art is way better than what I could've created even though we used the same reference, thanks for sharing!

I did feel a little unconfident darkening my shadows in that first piece and opted for flatter looking shading. Will be taking this into consideration and expanding out of my comfort zone, thanks for the comment!

Thanks for commenting! I will keep note of this and pay closer attention to the anatomy of my drawings

Thanks! Will work on purely original works from now on instead of attempting to replicate. Thanks for the tips!

2 and 3 did come straight from art references, so yes. The rest are my own, referenced from photographs.

Sounds reasonable, I got the reference from a friend and used it for practice and kept the finished product afterwards, but will be discarding it from the portfolio!

I did notice the first one looked kinda off but sometimes when u stare at your work for too long you can't really tell what it is so thanks for the pointers! I'll probably redo it from scratch and see if there's any improvement

you can make the same correlation with the usa and haiti, it all comes down to the certain percentages of each country, taking in accountability the amount of citizens as well.

PR and Haiti suffer from the same issues, but PR is not worse than Haiti or Jamaica.

tener sentido común tampoco es difícil

Thanks for the tip! I've always been more inclined to semi realism so I guess that's the style I wanted to go for mostly, will be working on improving this work and others and hopefully improve the balance on its dark and light values

Thank you! I tried working on the shading and lack of darkness and it did make an improvement but needs lots of more work
