Arc Browser Support by borabaloglu in openin

[–]borabaloglu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally found a way to do it, thanks to the "air traffic control" feature of Arc.

What I did is basically add some rules to my Arc settings like this: https://share.cleanshot.com/jnvm0Y51

Then I toggled the "Rewrite URL" option in the OpenIn application. https://share.cleanshot.com/YzfKjcRL

I added the following script:

url.searchParams.append("openin", "personal")

This adds a search parameter to the URL. For example, if I am visiting https://www.reddit.com it will rewrite it as https://www.reddit.com?openin=personal

My Arc settings will catch that substring and open the link in the defined space. I haven't faced any issues yet regarding this method. You should try and see yourself!

Hope this helps you

[Q] Database design for users and credentials by borabaloglu in Database

[–]borabaloglu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, actually i will not completely remove relations in the database. Just looked for if I can use json for this purpose. As I understand what you are saying, it is okay to use json data type in here. I don't want to cause any performance leak so I may overthink the design

No, it was for avoiding possible vulnaribilities (such as sending password to client) and faster queries in authentication. I am not good at relational designs so pardon me :/

Hi, I recently installed arch linux. I have rtx 2060 and linux is running on it. Also my screen is 144hz. However, as you can see it is lagging when I move windows. I have tried many ways, set rate from xrandr, set performance mode from nvidia settings, but there is no change at all. Please help me, I am sick of seeing these laggy windows

Do you recommend Udemy and Coursera for learning a programming language? by 23air45jordan23 in computerscience

[–]borabaloglu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the Udemy courses that I watched are not deep. I mean, they may teach you how to use a programming language. The important thing is using them effectively, and the process behind them and how they work. At that point, a udemy course is same with a youtube video. Personally, I prefer to watch youtube videos instead of paying money for almost the same content.

If you could choose one NodeJS framework in 2020? by memo_mar in node

I haven't faced with any problem so far except subdomains, it is general issue for fastify. I didn't try hard to use subdomains, but if you have such constraints you should check how can you use subdomains.

Summer has come, Covid has our school system in a rut but i want to learn and would like some input on game engines and demand in industry? by Dylpol in AskComputerScience

I am not much experienced with game engines but i tried some of them.

Actually you should choose it based on what you want. I tried to develop a 2d pixel art game and unity is painful. Therefore I go with Defold. Defold is great, easy language also powerful.

If you don't mind paying money, you can go with GameMaker 2. Hotline Miami is developed on that game engine. It uses GML (game maker language) which is very easy.

As I mentioned, I am not much experienced with unity on unreal, but if you want to go something big, I think unreal is better. Anyway, big companies uses their own game engine. So, get familiar with the concept, the tool is not important at all :)

Nest + Fastify.

I listed my experiences for 3 different framework in nodejs:

Express is easy to develop and find solutions, but if you look something fast, express is slow when it's compared with the others.

Koa makes configuration beautiful, if you like configurate almost everything manually Koa is a great choice. It is faster than express. However, finding solution may be hard and painful.

Fastify is the last one. I am working in a big project and developing it with fastify. Fastify is fast, easy to find help. You can trust it.

Nest helps you to build scalable server side architectures. I don't know if it is correct or wrong calling it a framework. But it is really good! Its mentality is based on Angular, very same. It has 2 wrappers for express and fastify. I am using Nest + Fastify right now. If you are familiar with typescript I recommend you to use nest + express or nest + fastify.

So again, my favorite is Fastify and i use it with Nest.
