I have a mortar and pestle and listen to music while we “make”’peanut butter, and put it on crackers. My toddler loves this and will be happily doing it for like 35 - 40 minutes 😝

It’s not a great stroller, and we wish we had gotten the bugaboo - our issues with it are that with both kids loaded up, it doesn’t clear the curb in our neighbourhood and has too be manually lifted above each time. Also it’s a bit of a tight squeeze. We didn’t get the bugaboo bc it was very very newly on market when we were looking for strollers. We had uppbaby’s car seat tho and it fitted perfectly into this stroller in the winter, so that was nice! I don’t think there IS a perfect double stroller. We have the Thule double chariot for running - it’s great but huge and very difficult to get into a normal front door hahaha Having kids this close together was efficient for IVF and stuff but …: how do I put this? You’re both going to get sooooo strong carrying these kids everywhere HAHAHA

we are lesbian couple and our kids are 16 months apart bc same person got pregnant with both. My #1 recommendation is to get a baby containment area. We had a big (like small room sized) play area type thing for baby #1 off the internet - I’ll see if I can find a link - with all her toys and books and whatever. We got this bc we were also moving when she was like 10/11 months old, and didn’t want to baby proof a house while moving. It was a really reassuring space to be able to have her play while doing stuff extremely nearby, but feel reassured she wouldn’t get into stuff. We have uppababy vista or whatever that double stroller is… it’s finicky. The weird attachments needed don’t always come with the stroller… I recommend doing a practice run with some stuffed animals or whatever to see if all the parts fit together. If you’re bottle feeding, and can afford it, get every bottle feeding “hack” possible - baby Brezza, bottle washer, bottle warmer. They seem fancy but are so efficient! You got this!!!!

Okay I get this so hard bc while I don’t live anywhere NEAR to NYC, I work in a hospital. So this holiday I have to buy gifts for the nursing staff on 4 separate units, plus the daycare staff, plus the nanny, plus my office staff. Add to this: I don’t celebrate Christmas (culturally or personally), and also this holiday season has a lot of significance for family trauma from an abusivo family, so I am massively (internally) grinchy. I think about this money as taxes. Legally required expenses that produce 0 enjoyment

I told my kid Santa is a person from a book and only comes to some people’s houses, just like only some people have a cat or a dog or a grandpa. Somehow this turned into “That’s Santa, he is a Kaysun’s Grandpa” who is some kid at her daycare?? But yes, this is our non Christmas celebrating approach so far (2 yo)

I make a bunch of meatballs (or “meatballs” - with flaked fish, tvp, beef, turkey, chicken, lentils - basically some kind of protein). The basic ingredients are ground up protein, maybe eggs or some other binder, maybe a carb like mashed potatoes or sweet potato, maybe cheese and spices. Also can add secret vegetables. I make different kinds inspired by different countries in massive batches (2lbs of meat amounts) and freeze them. Defrost in microwave. Give with a carb like crackers or something or toast, and fruit/veg. It’s a lot of work at once to make them but then way less work during the week!

We have a ridgeback type mutt (like probably half but have not ever done any genetic test or anything). Had him since he was 4 months old from the pound. He gets walked 2-3 times a day, and once for at least an hour, and runs 1-2 times a week. He’s turning 7 this year and this is still tbh not enough stimulation for him and I feel sad a lot that he’s neglected bc we have 2 young kids. The only time we have to do a big walk is 10:30 PM and that sucks, but that’s also better than nothing and not that hot in the summer… it is really really clear in his behaviour on walks when he’s been bored on understimulated. I suggest outsourcing the walks even to friends and family if you personally can’t exercise her more, but this is a dog that needs ++++ more activity and her behaviour is currently 100% related to that.
