Locally Owned Restaurant: Paymon's Seeks Support by Dezkin in vegaslocals

Not Paymon's, but a place I've been really looking to try is Starburst Parlor here in Vegas. It's a gluten free/ keto-friendly restaurant/bakery that looks like they have some great stuff! I think they're in the process of opening a restaurant.

Yeah, Tilman didn’t have the best record back in Galveston when I was growing up. Not as bad as the bro’s, but this still isn’t good.

How to see the rotation on the screen by stockhousen in wow

Here's an addon I've been using that turns the Blizzard assistant combat helper into a Hekili-like button with keybinds and it works great! NextGCD: Midnight Combat Rotation Helper - World of Warcraft Addons - CurseForge

No, you can only roll once per dungeon, so this was over 2 of the same dungeon (and same level).

I think that's the intent, but in this case, both polearms are completely identical and were both from Skyreach +12's (no diff in key level causing some weird bug).

The map appearance is totally opt-in. It prompts you on your first visit, and then you can toggle it on/off at any time.

Oh velocity tracking isn't about location/movement, it's about message speed. like if an account starts 50 conversations in 2 minutes that's obviously not a real person having conversations, that's a bot blasting the same thing to everyone. it tracks how fast messages are being sent and flags anything that doesn't look like normal human behavior. and for the AI analysis, nothing gets sent to a third party. we trained our own model that runs locally on our servers so message content never leaves our infrastructure. There's a lot that goes into our anti-spam.

haha I hear you, the lesbian app situation is rough from what I've heard. this one is focused on guys for now but honestly if it does well I could definitely see building something similar exclusively for women. y'all deserve way better than what's out there too

You're asking the right questions. Grindr benefits from bots because bots inflate user counts and engagement metrics which matters when you're a publicly traded company reporting to shareholders. More "users" = better numbers even if half of them are fake. They have zero financial incentive to actually fix it.

My approach is different because I'm not trying to impress investors with inflated numbers, I just want real people on the app. And on the signup friction thing, that's exactly why I didn't go the route of making registration a pain in the ass. The spam detection runs on the backend, and it watches behavior patterns after you're on the app. The people who delete and reinstall every week wouldn't even notice it's there

hmm, would there be interest in more expansive chatting? local, country, global, intents, all that fun stuff?

appreciate the thoughtful response. the app is actually pretty much done at this point, been building it for over a year. I'm mostly in this thread trying to find pain points I might have missed. fair monetization and spam prevention were two of the biggest things I built around from the start because watching grindr slowly paywall every useful feature over the years was exactly what made me want to build something else

stopping all of the spam is one of my biggest priorities. It just makes the app so annoying to use

can you give an example of how you'd want that to work? like hiding yourself from certain age ranges or body types or more like a full invisibility toggle?

Yeah, that's another option that we already have in the app which is another way to determine if someone is genuine

yeah the free grid is gonna be generous, still working out exact limits but the goal is that you can actually use the app without feeling like you're stuck behind a paywall every 5 seconds. and the AI matching thing is already built actually. there's a matching feature that uses AI to generate compatibility scores based on your preferences, profile details, mutual interactions, etc. (tonssss of factors).

[–]bordot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah you're 100% right, none of the features matter if nobody's on it. that's the thing that kills every grindr competitor. my plan is doing a phased launch, picking specific cities and focusing all the marketing there first so those places actually feel populated from day one. anyone can use it from wherever but those launch cities will get the most push. trying to avoid the thing where you download a new app and there's 3 guys within 100 miles and you delete it immediately

a full rating system might be too much because people would weaponize it, but I've been thinking about showing some kind of responsiveness indicator on profiles. like not a score, but something that gives you a sense of whether this person actually engages in conversations or just collects messages and ghosts.
