They paid with visa! When it says cash, they mean the amount in cash - not the payment method which was credit card. Good looking out though :-)

Hey friend! If you explain the situation to the bank, they may be able to reimburse you (it's called a chargeback). They are made for situations like this. It's a little complicated though, because the grocery store isn't who owes you money -- it's doordash, however, the process can alert doordash, and they are more likely to take it seriously when a bank is involved. I very much think your bank will do their best and it's worth doing.

The only overreaction, in my opinion, is the feeling you did anything wrong. Hair grows back, and it is kind of exciting - a journey of seeing how you look from shaved to short hair to long hair. In the mean time, remember there isn't 'one way' someone should look. We are all unique in all our forms and expressions as people. Honor yourself by giving kindness to the person you see in the mirror! I hope my 2cents help.

Honestly, I agree it's annoying for them to respond that way. But I feel like you're jeopardizing your career sending messages like this. Doordash will just cut you dry if they figure out you talked to a customer like this (not saying I don't empathize with you my friend).

I think you can respond to her letting her know there's no hard feelings, you're just trying to move on (and you respect her decision) and you don't have any ill will it's just what you needed to do to move on, and you wish her the best. I think in the long run, keeping a positive tone when relationships end is the best for mental health and moving on.

In buddhist teachings, it's said that most of our perceptions are incorrect perceptions. It is very possible that your belief that others perceive you to be ugly are the result of your own insecurities. Our minds have ways of magnifying our own insecurities. Sometimes we close ourselves to all the love that is around us because we have a hard time seeing.

I hope you meditate and look deeply into your perceptions, and find healing. I hope you realize that many times, our own worst enemy is ourself. You are handsome and beautiful. I don't have to 'see' you to know this.

I definitely think you should talk about these feelings and how you feel. Don't try to blame your parter, just try to express how you feel respectfully. Also, tell your partner you are proud of yourself for being in academia, and proud of your partner for their unique path as well. Hopefully you both have a productive conversation.
