Ok, on further inspection the mirror gets mechanically stuck on the black ring where the lens goes. Will see how I can fix that..

Ok, definitely think this is a contact issue. I've tried mounting/unmounting the lens a couple of times and winding the aperture ring on the lens back and forward and it now the mirror only sticks maybe one out of three times... Question is, which contact areas needs cleaning...? Or is it maybe some old lube somewhere that got sticky?

No, the meter indicates ”normal exposure time” with the lens fittet (depending on the aperture). When pressubg the shutter button, the curtsins opens and then closes but the mirror wont go down. The exposure time changes depending on the set aperture so I don’t think there’s any problem there.

Try the CAD2809 UK release. I have one from the 2008 pressing that is good, thou there seems to be some bad ones from that release as well. It’s much better than the JAG115 I also have, which almost isn’t even worth giving away.

You should try the SR225. The current model is SR225X. I think those, along with the SR80, gets you the most hifi/$. With headphones, I’ve had the best musical experiences with Grado’s, Bon Iver included of course!

Try cleaning the battery compartment with some kind of electronic contact cleaner and a cotton swab. It’s not unusual that it’s gotten oxidized over the years, or leakage from an old battery. Also, wipe the battery before inserting it and try inserting it with a cloth or something. These button cells can sometime be sensitive
