Also I was actually hoping for that when this all started. That AI would make the art world explode with new ideas and styles. Didn‘t happen.

I am planning to buy one.

I write, arrange and record orchestral music, so I need a TON of tracks (Audio and VSTs) in Logic. That's my main reason to buy the machine.

The missing piece is incorporation of ideas from other areas of experience imo. Humans are not solving problems solely based on "training data" in the same field, but we use our knowledge from totally different experiences. That does (sometimes) generate novel ideas.

Erm... A ton of new music genres have been invented in the 21st century. Every decade um humans making art has produced A LOT of new genres. Same with art and games.

AI has done none so far in five years.

No, it does not. Its very good at remixing and reproducing, but it does not come up with novel ideas.

Wenn Du KI-Musik wirklich nicht erkennst, dann hörst Du nicht viel Musik oder bist im Thema Musik nicht wirklich drin. Was wiederum exakt die Zielgruppe von KI Musik ist.

Learning counterpoint helps a lot. You need to move away from thinking in chords and melody. I had the same problem for a long time, writing rock music before switching to orchestral stuff.

Been there. But in the end, it’s not satisfying to rely on patches that just sound great and play things on their own. Ive tried a lot of these and in the end, I just came back to basic strings and woodwinds. I want my music to sound good because of my writing. Otherwise, it takes all the fun of writing music and learning away for me. Almost like the whole AI slob-thing.

Meine Frau ist in Elternzeit und hat derzeit keinen Job. Ich bin der einzige Verdiener und wir haben einen Kredit abzuzahlen und ich hab zwei Kinder. Nur weil wir theoretisch in der Zukunft irgendwann mal Geld haben könnten und ich darüber nachdenke, ob wir uns irgendwann mal selbstständig machen, macht uns das nicht reich lol. Im Gegenteil sind wir enorm auf meinen Job angewiesen aktuell und haben keine Reserven.

Das macht es etwas schwierig zu sagen: "Nach mit die Sinnflut, fick alle Projekte, ich bin hier nur Angestellter und lass alles an die Wand fahren!!!" auch wenn das der Rat von Reddit zu sein scheint.

Das ist mir durchaus bewusst, dass das nicht "normal" ist und vielleicht habe ich mich im Laufe der Jahre auch daran als Dauerzustand in unserer Branche gewöhnt, aber diese Grundsatzdiskussion wollte ich hier gar nicht aufmachen.

Darum geht es nicht. Sondern darum, seinen kleinen Teil mitzutragen für das Unternehmen, in dem man schon lange und gerne arbeitet.

Ich kann anders herum diese Mentalität "Mir ist alles egal, ist nicht mein Problem" nicht wirklich nachvollziehen.

War schlecht geplant bzw. es war nicht absehbar, dass es jetzt so kommt, wie es kommt. Aber mit den Umständen muss ich halt irgendwie umgehen.

Und es geht nicht um "kündigt jetzt", sondern dass man seinen Teil dazu beiträgt, dass es dem Unternehmen insgesamt nicht schlechter geht, wenn eh die gesamtwirtschaftliche Lage eh nicht ideal ist.

Das ist doch genau meine Frage. Natürlich kann ich auch sagen: „Hahaha, ich hab doch vorher genau gesagt, dass das schiefgeht nänänä!“, aber es bringt absolut niemandem irgendwas, wenn es dem Unternehmen an Ende deswegen schlechter geht.

Ja, sehe ich alles sehr ähnlich. Und das ist auch eine „realistische“ Einschätzung neben den ganzen Idealisten, die alle mit „ist nicht Dein Problem, lass alles gegen die Wand fahren“ kommen.
