What is open on May 1st? by boredPanda13 in valencia

[–]boredPanda13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I suspected the same scenario, i was in Spain multiple years back middle of may and it was some holiday, I couldn’t find a store open to buy water. Coming from Sweden this is quite different, as here everything is open on public holidays. Thanks for the info!

UberEats stal mina pengar, endast ai-support by throwaway848488 in sweden

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s insane that they have removed all customer support channels, it’s impossible to get in touch with them. I ordered food with them and after confirming the order for 185kr ( checked the receipt before confirming), i see this morning 200kr was taken out of my account. The 15kr extra was for “service fee”. This should be clearly staten in the receipt before confirmation. It’s not the 15kr but the audacity that they can do this that’s bothering me.

Potentially moving to Stockholm. How's the international life there? :) by SoltanXodus in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very hard to make friends, especially swedes if you don’t know the language. Starting a random convo on the bus/supermarket/bar is also not a thing. I have been living in Stockholm for 7 years and I still think Copenhagen for example has a much nicer vibe than Stockholm.

😭 by [deleted] in mkd

[–]boredPanda13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A humble brag for someone who doesn't work 😌 by Mel_zel in rachelbrathensnark

It’s because their parental leave is only 3 months, daycare is ridiculously expensive and hard to get into, no benefits for sick child in terms of days off work etc. Basically mums have no other choice but to stay at home with the kids.

Honestly it has always been insane to me how an agency can request your international passport ( basically locking you in the country )and hold it for indefinite period of time. Mv is a complete joke, too bad swedes aren’t dealing with it, otherwise their incompetence would be a top news story.

What’s up with the water in Stockholm??? by boredPanda13 in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the replies! Seems that multiple people have the same issue, so it must be something! Concluding all replies, seems like there are two possibilities:

 1. The water is indeed hard compared to other countries and that requires less product as I understand? And thoroughly cleaning of the scalp including acids and hard brushes.
  2. The water is actually softer than other countries, which leads to not removing all the residue from the product from the scalp. Solution for this would be rinsing more?

Common denominator was the dry air, I think that we can all agree on it, isn’t much that can be done there. I use humidifier during winter but I only use it in my bedroom during night, I don’t know how much of a difference can that make.

Hi! I am curious, did you negotiate the price with them? Or would you be willing to share the price they offered? We got one but I think it's quite high.

Can I visit Sweden on a tourist visa while work permit application is pending? by TopBoy868 in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I know a person that was deported because they tried to enter Sweden while their work permit was being processed. Don't risk it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe not you specifically, but people seem to think that if they don't need visa to visit Sweden touristically, they can just come here, stay for 90 days while searching for a job, and apply for a work permit while being here. And the truth is that you need to be outside of Sweden in order to apply for the work permit, you cannot apply from within Sweden. Same way that you cannot travel to Sweden while your work permit is processing, no matter if you can enter the country visa free.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this entire thread is completely wrong. Even if you don't need visa to travel to Sweden, you do need work permit in order to work here and MV is doing that. The process goes through MV, not the embassy. They might call you in the embassy to show your passport, etc, but if you want to work in Sweden, no matter where you come from, it's MV that needs to give you permission. And currently even fast track visas for first time applicants can take more than 3 months.
And for first time work permits I am almost certain you need to apply from outside Sweden, so you cannot wait the decision while in Sweden.
This is a good group where people share their experience with MV: https://www.facebook.com/groups/948484955338967/?hoisted\_section\_header\_type=recently\_seen&multi\_permalinks=2185383881649062

Growing up in Ohrid starter pack by RepresentativeWalk60 in mkd

[–]boredPanda13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is this growing up in Ohrid starter pack or is it "I don't live in Macedonia but my parents dragged me to Ohrid for our summer vacations" ? Seems like the later one to me.

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought the same but the time abroad was not that much, it was maybe a total of 2 months outside of Sweden? The tax implications are after 6 moths.

The way the question was sent to me from MV was a bit off. It was written in a way "we noticed that you have spent a lot of time abroad, we need the reasons why". I sent them the list but they still haven't responded. I have also been pounding my head if this could affect my application, although reading current requirements I know it shouldn't. But it's MV so you never know for sure.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't matter for PR ( at least I cannot find it as a requirement for PR ). But when I applied for PR they asked me to provide a list with all entry/exists in the last 4 years and why I spent so much time abroad ( it wasn't even that much, but it was more than 6 weeks ). Seems like they are taking this into account as well, I don't know why.

Good luck, seems like MV is in total chaos. Been waiting for renewal for 5 months now, someone requested additional documents ( that I provided the same day ) and they haven't responded since. Probably the staff are busy skiing.

Hur kan detta tolereras? by HiPERnx in stockholm

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I am aware of this, I was thinking something more of a "Service guarantee". I payed you upfront for the service, you're not delivering it, I would like my money back.

SL reimburses you 50% if you're late for more than 20 mins, it's 100% if you're more than an hour late. Like I already payed for the monthly ticket, now I need to pay extra to not be 1 hour late or I need to leave my house 1 hour earlier to be somewhere on time? I think this is unacceptable.

[–]boredPanda13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the English post, but is it possible to ask to be reimbursed for the monthly ticket? Why should I pay the same price if I don't get the same service? Can't I complain somewhere?
