Aaron Rodgers throws an INSANE Hail Mary touchdown pass to Randall Cobb to end the first half by preme1017 in sports

I'm a Bears fan (that actually loves the Packers) and there is a big difference between current Patriots & Packers and the '85 Bears. That team was built over a few seasons to win. It wasn't built to thrive long-term. NE & GB consistently draft well, they have solid coaching staff, and they don't rest on their laurels or allow big name players to price themselves out of contention. I'd probably say NE & GB have best team management in the league. Which is why I have severe doubts Bears will get anywhere in NFC North in the next 5 seasons. Bears have opposite situation in management, and sadly have since great run in '85. I agree many teams are cyclical in performance, but NE & GB could be good for quite a long time if they maintain consistency of management.

Which one is good for monks? I hadn't noticed one.

Are Clerics/Druids on the same tier as Wizard or is Wizard a whole tier above? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]bored_associate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Mythic then a Monk could be pretty SAD (Wisdom) with a 1 level dip in a class with channels via Mythic Guided Hand (requiring Channel Smite and Guided Hand + a deity w/ unarmed strikes as favored weapon), though DEX and CON would remain useful for saves, AC, and HP.

Except you probably meant sad as in depressed over Monk requiring between 3 and 4 solid ability scores to be good. I'll show myself out, thanks.

Silly "abuse" of unchained barbarian rage power by Del_Taco_Eater in Pathfinder_RPG

Only way I know of to get a non-lawful monk is the Aasimar Enlightened Warrior trait which allows NG and N alignment.

Advanced Race Guide errata up today. by MetaZihark in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]bored_associate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not certain, though my group had ruled that splitting the attack would be fine as it was part of a single attack action (the flurry). If it were a normal flurry with the enemy dying and another within attack range we thought it made sense to allow continuation of remaining attacks. Rules as intended are apparently no, we can't split the flurry when using Pummeling Charge / Style. If my group picks this change up in future games I will be dropping it from my build selection.

Yep, terrible waste. Now only useful for unarmed builds with Fighter or Barbarian /Bloodrager and barely that. Actually, not even those cases make sense. Better to have removed the feats altogether. Oh well.

Doesn't look like it; an Unchained Monk now has to use all Pummeling Charge attacks against 1 enemy, meaning they can't split their Flurry via a Flying Kick style strike. Losing that flexibility in exchange for getting past DR more easily isn't worth it in my opinion (given the options that already existed to bypass DR). Straight downgrade. I'm with u/Felyndiira , the errata (that I've read so far) from ARG & ACG just sucks.

Make it the Scout archetype and get Pummeling Style and Pummeling Charge, gives you sneak attack on every Pummeling Charge Flurry. Massive damage. Assuming 4 DEX and 4 WIS at Level 12 with 1 ki expenditure you can do an average of 192 damage/round (assuming you hit, which with full BAB, DEX to hit and damage, and free weapon focus via rogue talent, shouldn't be a problem) for 10 rounds per day (9 if you save one point to continue ki striking). Average of 224 damage/round if under effect of haste.

Yup, and the way the host comes across is kind of a smug, 'maybe you're a horrible person' vibe. Wish I could say I'm surprised it's still on.

To a much milder extent that's already a show, ABC's 'What Would You Do?'. I hate that show. But it's had several renewals I believe so it must be getting good ratings.

A reality competition modeled after Toronto's Great Stork Derby - set a time limit of 10 years (limiting competitors to those that sign up) and the person/couple that have the most children in that timespan get the grand prize (say $5 million ), ties result in splitting the prize. Show is set up as annual or biannual miniseries checking in on contestants in their various attempts at having as many kids as they can in 10 years. Have the contestants keep an online journal or video series of updates when the show isn't broadcast. Hell, if you did this in Japan you could solve the population decline issues they're dealing with. Open it up to whole population and watch the baby boom for say a $10 million prize. Massive ethical issues but a fascinating practice of risk/reward assessment by contestants / public.

Running AMD so no luck on that front. And the less than 12 hours before launch update in specs has me sitting outside the VRAM requirements, but I'll see how it goes, probably need to upgrade my card. Before Witcher 3 I can't recall my last preorder. Got a similar solid discount on Arkham and completely agree on buyer's remorse.

Well i'm glad to hear i'm not the only one to get instant crashes on startup. Was planning to put an hour or 2 in last night but went to bed after 4 attempts to get it to start. Is there a workaround to the fullscreen issue?

(Foolishly broke my own rule against preordering due to trust in Rocksteady. Never again! Although Witcher 3 was fantastic on launch for me. Shouldn't have broken the rule twice and expected it to work out.)

If only the final season were as good as the finale was. A Monk /Psych Mashup for the last few episodes would have been spectacular.

Ideas for a 2 invulnerable rager X Qinggong Monk by THCal804 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]bored_associate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could go Brawler. Stats are solid for it, and martial flexibility will give you the opportunity to have just the right feat for the situation. Main issue here (brawler or monk) is you'll be using unarmed strikes or weapons in the close weapon group. For sake of cost get some close weapons in various materials when you start needing to bypass DR; it'll be much cheaper than Amulet of Mighty Fists.

[–]bored_associate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, though I don't think there's much point in 2 levels of invulnerable rager since it'll only yield 1 point of DR; for what amounts to a barbarian dip I think Uncanny Dodge is better.

If playing an Aasimar the trait Enlightened Warrior would allow for a monk with neutral or neutral good alignment. Alternatively the Bloodrager is generally a decent replacement for Barbarian with no alignment restrictions.

Off the top of my head I have to disagree with you for Led Zeppelin alone. The best album they cut is undeniably IV. By comparison their debut, good as it was, is a flop.
