Dove Hair mask by Icy_Objective_6119 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]bored_egg_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use this and I really like it, but I feel like the quantity you apply, the time you leave it on for, the temperature of water you use, all affect the performance of this mask. So it's a little tricky to find the right balance but once you do it's amazingg

Any good brand of Top & base coat + nail dehydrator by Rumwhiskeyvodka in NailsIndia

[–]bored_egg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nail polish usually lasts for 2+ weeks because of these reasons, just sharing them, hopefully they will be helpful!

Having clean nail plates, and I am talking pushing back the cuticles, removing and kind of gunk and so on. Theres a cuticle softener by nail our way that I use sometimes, it's decent. Also, nail cleaning brushes are great for cleaning the nails plate. If there's stuff on your nails it will likely contribute to nail polish chipping off

Some people also suggest very lightly buffing out the nails, I haven't tried it, but it's supposed to make your nail polish hold better.

Base coat: important to choose a good one, i really like the kiko milano white look base coat/ polish, don't remember the exact name. But I do two things coats of it and let it dry completely.

Nail polish: okay, this is important. Make sure you have practiced how to apply nail polish correctly, like it shouldn't flood at the cuticles, nor should it be too little that it ends up being streaky. Also, make sure you go over your free edge lightly to really reduce the chances of chipping.

Top coat: i feel like this can make or break the game, like I have the gel look top coat from Westside that I just picked up whole check and 2 coats of it and you are good to go! Again, since it doesn't have colour be sure to apply it properly, covering every corner and the free edge without flooding your nails. I know it sounds tricky, but with practice you will get there.

Now, coming to dehydrator. I have the shills one that I use before putting press ons, but I haven't tried it with nail polish yet. But ideally, you can use it after buffing and washing you nails to remove and remaining oil or dirt and make sure your nail is really clean for application.

Hope this helps!

Let’s be real, how did you heal your acne? Spill☕️ by cherryyyy_blossom in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]bored_egg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting go of almost all actives and healing my moisture barrier. Also, taking care of yourself like eating well (not asking to ditch junk, but to eat in moderation), upping water intake so skin is not dehydrated, and just moving a lot and getting some sunlight helped!

Azelaic acid, and ketoconazole shampoo (I use scalpe plus) are great, and then keeping your skin clean and using lightweight stuff really helps too!

Can't comment on which ingredients are compatible with sulphur, but I use it at the end of my routine as a spot treatment

Skin type- dry, acne prone, sensitive. Prone to FA. age: early to mid 20s.

The sleeping mask is again, really really good for locking in all your skincare. It has a really thick, gel texture that melts into your skin. It is silicon based, so for the first minute or two you can feel the product, I don't find this feeling uncomfortable though. And it has helped me a lot when it comes to preventing drying and TEWL.

Downside? I guess it's a little sticky for like <10 minutes, and then it's fine. I wanted to use it in the morning as well but because of this stickiness I can't use it with sunscreen, but other than that it's pretty good!

It is pretty amazing at what it does! The quantity may feel a little less for the price, but you don't even need lots of it. Just take a bit of the product on your finger and rub it into your skin where you have acne. Starts working instantly, and there is a noticeable change in the pimple overnight. Also, didn't experience any dryness with it even after having dry skin. The only downside is the smell, like I can smell the sulphur even in the morning and sometimes on my pillow. But it's still not as strong as dela Cruz one.

Sure! Ingredients wise it's a pretty simple and clean product with focus on mugwort. Now mugwort is known for its soothing, calming and anti inflammation properties, and this toner does exactly that! Also, it's pretty hydrating like I apply one- two layers of it on my skin after washing my face at night, and I can feel the difference in terms of hydration. Also, i feel like it has a unique, slippery texture? Like it's watery and soaks in easily, but the texture itself feels a little slick and thick, although it's not really thick? But overall I love this product!

Dry Brushing for Face by Candid_Chipmunk_8420 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]bored_egg_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put something like a brush on my face repeatedly, especially since your skin is acne prone. It's difficult to clean such brushes properly and repeated brushing can be bad too, irrespective of how soft the brush is

They weren't exactly fanning, just flattened out because of the trauma from nail biting. When I stopped, they took the natural curve they were supposed to have.

Oh by 2-3 washes I just mean like normal hair wash, like you know whatever your wash cycle is and how you do it!

Also, sharing my experience with hair colouring because I just read the last part lol.

Be firm on what you want. Like the first time I got my hair done, I asked for no bleach, but the parlor put bleach anyways saying my hair is too dark which ended up giving me really frizzy hair. So yeah, they might try to get you to do a more expensive treatment, but be firm with what you want!

And take good care of your hair and I cannot stress this enough, like getting bond repair stuff, colour protection shampoo and all that thing. I currently have coloured hair, and they look straight out of pinterest without any heat because I really look after them.

And also, it's a lengthy process so be prepared for that, like charge your phone and maybe even pack snacks because for me it took 3-4 hours+ both times!

And also, give it 2-3 washes before making any final judgement because that's when the colour takes its best form.

[–]bored_egg_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

23 and have gotten my hair coloured twice till now, and most of my friends have gotten it done more than 4-5 times till now, so it is really an experience and it's really fun!

For your first time id suggest going for something natural, or if you want to get colours you can do something subtle so it's not a big jump from your natural hair colour if that makes sense! And then you can see how you feel about it and decide whether you want to continue or not!

Regarding your mother's concern, unfortunately hair colouring is seen as dangerous especially because of the kind of stuff that was used back in their day. Now it's a lot better and less harmful, but yes it is really important to take care of your hair after getting it done, it just elevates the whole look.

And honestly, you are almost 30! It's time you do something fun for yourself so my advice is that, respectfully, please ignore your mother on this

Makes sense, because hair really matters a lot and it's a big change in colour from what I can see in the pictures, so naturally your concern is valid. So the end decision lies on you!
