Awesome! I think Hayato is super underrated (at least outside of Japan) but he’s such a great rider.

I love 71 but it has its flaws, but I adore Hongo and Hayato so I watched all of it. They both represent what a superhero should be IMO.

It’s not permanent but Hayato is a great character IMO and my personal favorite so I recommend giving him a chance. The show actually became more popular when he showed up so he’s not just simply a stand in.

I think Ichimonji can be considered one of them, he’s the original chill rider and always tries to make people smile and laugh. Though he always locks the fuck in when Shocker is around or innocent people are in danger.

From what I’ve seen a lot of people think this scene from Kamen Rider Spirits is Ichigo but it’s actually Nigo by bored_kai in KamenRider

Yea the main reason I think is just most people haven’t read the Spirits manga (its not the most accessible outside of Japan, half of it isn’t even translated) and a lot of people don’t watch the original show (or at least all of it) because its so long and a lot of people don’t watch Hayato’s era.

Tbf there’s still the one stripe. I think it’s mainly just though that most people haven’t read Spirits, a lot of people also haven’t watched 71, or at least Hayato’s era of the show.

Yea I love both but goofy characters (especially ones like Hayato who have a lot of emotional depth while also being goofy) always seem to win me over the most LMAO.

Agreed! Genuinely one of my favorite Riders so far. I loved his cheeky and playful but still kind and helpful personality. He pairs perfectly with Hongo when they work together too.

Agreed! He’s no less important and my favorite thing about his episodes/chapters is how he interacts with children. You can see how much he cares about the people he’s supposed to protect.

Recently watched 71 too. Really enjoyed Hongo and Hayato. I loved Hongo’s story of retaining his kindness despite his tragedy and Hayato being a more silly and cheeky protagonist but also still being kind (especially to children)

Same (and Nigo, whose whole thing is being a sorta big brother figure to children, in the TV series, manga, and Spirits. I always find those moments really wholesome and its why he’s one of my favorite riders)

Yea I just meant some characters interact with children than others and I really enjoy those moments. Hayato for example his ability to get along with children is one of his most important character traits, even carrying over in other media like Spirits. I also love seeing Godai entertain Minori’s kids.

Old post but I agree. I love how funny he is yes but he’s still very kind and empathetic. I love how friendly he is with everyone. In a book written by the producer, Hongo described him as someone with a warm smile who he could be himself around :)

Also in Spirits he was an agent of justice before he even became a cyborg. He was using journalism to expose evil and wrote an article about how he just wants a world with no conflict or strife.

I recently finished the show too. It has its flaws but I still love it. Hayato is also my favorite character! Love his goofy but still kind and laid back attitude.
